    Default Guilds?

    Hi! I don't know whether this has been asked before, but i haven't found anything. I'd like to know if there are any guilds in tLK. "Basic guild" (eg for assassins, spies, merchants etc.) as well as "special guilds" like the military orders of M2.

    that's a good question.
    "special guilds" like the military orders, I can't imagine...

    but the basic ones could be included.
    for example the sword-smith etc.

    Of course there shoudn't be knights...but they could be changed to let's say Fanatic Barbarians or Druids...

    I'm totally for the stuff doge suggests. Druids seems a little off but surely some special units could be thought of that would fit all factions

    edit: for example for the continent (franks/normans) it could be Alani Cavalry...(sarmatian-style)

    jep, I didn't mean actual knights like the orders - but when I first read- nothing similar came to my mind.
    but as you say druids it made click

    hm, well for the pagan unit roster it would be cool making some guilds dedicated to some of the gods - and weather building one guild or a nother you can then recruit some special units dedicated to the god you chose... (think this was similar in Rome TW think the germans had this kind of for freya thor and odin - several units at the religious shrines...)

    I think they are buisy working - and that's good like this...
    we all want 1.0 as fast as possible - but guilds for a 1.1 or 2.0 would be cool.

    perhaps someone else has special guilds in mind.

    well im a beta tester and i cant really remember if they are or not, im pretty sure their not

    The time period this is set in pre-dates most historical guild development.

    jep, I think guild is not the right name for it.
    it's the same with the orders - surely there were no hospitaliters and no real sword-smith guild or the hanse...

    the point is if one could invent something similar like guilds - not guilds like in sense of the years after 1000
    mustn't be named guild but perhaps just special buildings to let events happen/get better armor/units etc...

    quilds in the true sense of the word yes, but im sure there were many similar things.

    Varangian guild for viking factions would be awesome. But varangians can only be a simple units to so idk

    well the Varangians would have had no impact on the area included in the mod, they were recruited from there, but it was only in Byzantium that they were formed into a significant military unit. Although there were rare examples of former Varangians like Harald hardraada coming back to become king of norway. Now that i think of it, that would make for a damn good trait or ancilliery for him
