Thread: "Green" Mordor

    Default "Green" Mordor

Has anyone ever thought of what Mordor would look like if it had greenery like the rest of Middle-Earth? Might be interesting to see that in a mod.

Actually, after the War of the Ring, when King Elessar gave Mordor to the people of Nurn, it turned to an incredibly fertile area because of all the ash of the volcano, so in the end it became a beautiful land after all.

Well, the area arround the Sea of Nurn would be a very fertile are, also the ammount of ashes arround Mordor will be very usefull, though irrigation might be a problem.

I always had the idea of if a "good" faction conquered a part of mordor, after, say 10 turns it would revert to a "greener" and more alive texture. idk how hard it would be to do, but it would be pretty cool to see

I'd love that. Right now whenever I conquer Mordor as Gondor I destroy everything, raise taxes to very high and leave so that they rebel, it just feels wrong that I keep such an evil looking area.

Are changes to the campaign map reflected in save games? If so you could use a command line switcher ala .:Zack Fair:.'s Arnor/Eriador switcher.

It wouldnt work it seems but what did you had in mind?

A bunch of orch natural enviroment activist's who starts a green revolution, perhaps?
A version of mao Zedongs "A Great Leap Forward" maybe? Back to the soil and healty lifestile of old!
Down with enviromental pollution, buuu for Sauron and Sarumans industies! Plant a flower and kill the enemies of Arda, our great mother earth.
The elite troop's is the "Green peace-commandos" and special abilites for other troops may be to dismount mumakils, wargs and other endangered animal species from the WWF list, letting them free!
