    No, only denmark has been excommunicated in my game. There are less alliances and thus also with the pope but that hasnt led to more excommunications. The traditional enemies are now starting to pick on each other so it might increase in the future.

    turn 32. Denmark has been reconciled, standings at 4 crosses atm. Venice at 5 and all the rest higher. Denmark and Venice are the ones with the most enemies.

    This is such a sweet AI. First time in ages I've seen the HRE and Moors pwn and the scots are able to push back the English where they belong. Looking forward for the next release asap.

    one thing, though-i think it should be possible for orthodoxes to ally with Catholics. the byzantines relied on Catholic Europe, especially later on, to keep it alive and keep the Muslims at bay. in the 1090s, the Byzantine emperor requested assistance to keep the Turks out of Anatolia, so Pope Urban II decided to call all of christendom to take up the cross and sword and march on their glorious journey to defend their fellow Christians by taking...Jerusalem...but you get the point. Alliances happened historically between Catholics and Orthodoxes and, while they differed in religion, both considered each other the lesser of two evils, and were willing to join forces to keep mutual enemies at bay.

    Technically not, since both mods have one file in common, namely descr_campaign_db.xml. Soulsons mod consists of two files. You can merge the one they have in common, by using a tool called winmerge. Which lets you view the two files simultanously, so you can pick the things you want to use. The file alters things like character aging, heretic spawn chances etc but it will probably run if you paste it over Meneths submod. Just make sure you make a copy of the file.

    campaign_ai_db file should work fine. As long as the mod doesn't change the campaign_db file you can use that too.

    I wonder about this, because I quit a campaign earlier after about 30 turns as this was constantly the case in my game a few editions ago as well.

    Nevertheless, I've been waiting for 1.5 for almost a month now, but there hasn't even been any word for several weeks. So I guess I will give 1.4 a shot.

    Hopefully, moving this thread back up in the list, it's near the bottom of page two now, will give Soulson a bit of incentive and encouragement for what surely is a much appreciated as well as needed effort!

    Sorry for the wait. Hitting a telephone pole and totaling your ride changes a lot. Once again this is open beta as usual. While working on this, I noticed more so than ever that this game is broken in the hard code ie alliances and other certain aspects of the game. try it out. post what you think and I will go from there. Make sure to install all files. Enjoy gentlemen.


    btw: late era campaigns should be far more aggressive.

    By the way the problem I thought I was having earlier with the pope hating me turned out to be another mod, not this one.
