    Default Disappearing plumes?

I noticed something strange today when adding the new bavarian helmets to my mod.

I wanted to add a red plume to the artillery.

So I went in PFM, to the variant model of the artillery, selected Add New Entry, and then copied and paste the entries for the Grenadier (who has a red plume) to the 12-lber and the 6-lber artillery, officer and soldier.

When I start a test battle in single player with both units, only the soldiers of the 12-lber have the plumes.

If I start a game with only 6-lber artillery, the the soldiers have a plume (while they don't have it if the 12-lber is also there).

And if I remove the plume from the 12-lber soldier, and test, then the officer has the plume.

Is it a know bug? What am I doing wrong?

Plumes have always been a little buggy for me. They frequently revert to other colors or disappear. It may just be the engine.

L'aigle told me he has seen something similar, where if you copy a variant, rename it, import and add a plume to the officer and then the soldier, the plume is likely to disappear from the officer.
    Probably a bug

You need to code some differences in the model. For ex., make a double Torso for the officer or the soldier where plume is disappeared.

    what do you mean?
Make two entries for the torso in the variant of the officer?
    With identical mesh and texture?

    Not necessarily.

This could be a bug coming from PFM that doesn't update the variant exactly how CA is expected them.

And that doesn't mean PFM is badly programmed, just that the lack of direct access to what CA did makes it difficult to see how it should be done exactly.
