Just took a break from my music mixing. I decided to battle some in Third Age. The year is 1210.
There are two battles: one small one against some skirmishes of orcs which I didn't bother documenting, and one which was pure butchery and of great size. Here are some pictures to tell the story, as I pretty much suck with words.

As you can see, I'm clearly outnumbered. I have my back against the snow covered hill, and my flanks are pretty safe. I have lot's of archers. The enemy does not. I think the archer bit played a big part of my success in this one, and the cavalry. The enemy did not have cavalry, or wargs.

The moment of suprise; I did NOT expect this to happen that quickly. Especially with a 5% loss.

This is the result: the 5% loss for me and the 90% loss for the enemy:

This enemy (which is the Orcs) being evil and all, caused the morality and/or ethical boundaries to be thrown down the gutter. I went for the Sun Tzu tactic: when routing ones enemy, capture and/or kill as many as possible. It is a matter of efficiency, and a matter of prevailing. To win the war, one obviously cannot rely simply on winning the battles.

And that was it. By pure brutality and some cleaver tactical use of cavalry, I nearly exterminated the enemy in battle. Let us hope I can do the same in campaign.
Right now, Gondor is not all mighty powerful. Mordor seem to be on the brink of destruction, however. And if Mordor falls, curtain opportunities will arise to seize great power. Wish me luck!

nicely done. I would have preferred some more words though. And some more pictures actually
Maybe it would have been better to put the pics in spoilers?
And no offense intended but it just seems lacking somehow. Perhaps because I was expecting more words or maybe the pics could ahve been timed better or whatever.

I dunno, either way its nice work

If you don't mind me asking, how is it 1210?

HACKS! lol jokes great work! archers always play a huge roll against orcs due to the numbers of sheer orcs. Wherever you shoot there is a guaranteed hit!
"The when Fingon heard afar the great trumpet of Turgon his brother, the shadow passed and his heart was uplifted, and he shouted aloud: "Utúlie'n aurë! Aiya Eldalië ar Atanatári, utúlie'n aurë! The day has come! Behold, people of the Eldar and Fathers of Men, the day has come!" And all those who heard his great voice echo in the hills answered crying: "Auta i lómë! The night is passing!""
