Opening of the badge Competition

Manji and Lord Rahl volunteered to create new badges for TWC.

They will be in competition of who can make better badges based on our current ones

The winner badges sets will be implemented.

Proposal (which was already proposed once) for changing the Praefecti to Preator and the Cohortes back to Urbanis Legio.

Criteria: Roman style badges (to be implemented) and Medieval style badges (for show only now)

Who is against changing Praefecti to Preator and CP to Urbanis Legio?

We can do that too and base our new badges on the new ranks also. ( i think there was a proposal about this already)

So the badge list considered to be re-made:

Civitates
Patricians
Senatorii
Urbanis Legio (or CP if you guys prefer CPs)
Quaestor
Praetor (or Prefect if you guys prefer)
Consul
Imperator


For medieval style badges, just keep them un-named for now, but make at least as many as our current ones.

This thread might be suited for the Prothalamos, so if the Pro-Curator feels like it is better suited there, please move it so.

They all look awesome except for the Civitate and Patrician ones. I think the Civitate and Patrician ones need a bit more color or flavor...

Other than that, truely great work Rahl.

Roman style badges

Some thoughts:

1. Think of the banner as a toga rather than an actual banner. If you do this, all those of senatorial rank (Senatorii, plus Quaestors and up) could be given a broad purple stripe on the bottom of their banner, to represent the toga praetexta that senators wore on certain occasions; Patricians and CPs/ULs/whatever could represent equestrians, and have thin scarlet stripes and a thin purple border. So for instance, something like this:
   
2. The Imperator should probably be the one with the laurel wreath, not the Senators. A more faded image, in line with the Civitates/Patricians banners, would possibly be more appropriate for Senatorii. Maybe of the Curia Hostilia, for instance.

H&G, well I think the badges I have made are a bit more flashy but if you have any ideas feel free to tell me. Shields are easy to add and find but for Civitates and Patricians it is a bit more difficult. I'm trying to make them look different but at the same time keep them looking similar to the old ones.

I don't think adding shields would be necessary. I just think the current Civitates and Patricians badges that you have posted right now, look pretty much like the current ones we already have. Can you use some different pictures/graphics for the Civitates and Patricians....instead of those statue heads?
