[SOLVED] Units not responding to orders properly

I've got a serious problem - when I order my units to move, whether that's dragging a formation or clicking on the terrain, the units bugger off and do their own thing; they'll deploy themselves next to where I've told them to go, in a different formation.

I've verified my files, I'm playing with the latest version, and my PC can definitely handle it. It was running just fine before, and I'm not sure what I did to cause this bug - I certainly never altered any files relating to DM.

Have you tried reinstalling DMUC? You mentioned you verified but I can't see anything else.

Have you tried completely reinstalling ETW from scratch?

I've never encountered the problem you describe, so I do not know exactly what it is being caused by.

Okay, I just re-installed completely, and it improved things slightly - units now respond more, and follow orders more accurately, but it's still pretty unplayable.

This is very odd indeed.
Did you do anything immediately before it went wrong, installed something perhaps?

I must have... Because I've just realised I'm getting exactly the same problem in Rome Total War.

Does your copy of RTW run on steam perchance?

Dammit, I was hoping there would be some kind of link, never mind.

Do you think its a problem with your computer mouse or something like this?
I can't think of any other way in which two seperate games would suffer the same problem.

Well, this is truly bizarre - playing with a different mouse solved the problem entirely. It's quite insane; everything else worked fine, but I couldn't order units properly with in Total War games! I guess I must have damaged my (formerly good) mouse.
Thanks for the help, anyway - I'll rep you for your efforts.
