It's too bad there will be doubtful any benefits towards lessening the burden of multitasking. Back in RTW, I had the wish of granting centurions the option of going 'free' and deciding what to do themselves, rather than wait on my command at every second (as was the advantage of them)..doubt it'll be included here. >_>

    Oh well!

Two of the other guys in your LAN party engage in a battle. You'd have to be sitting there waiting for the battle to finish before the "end turn" could complete. WOuld you really be willing to sit and wait for 30 minutes to an hour every other turn? I doubt it.

The only way a campaign MP could ever work, is if you make it 100% autocalc every battle.
If you play four players on lan I think many of the bigger battles in a campaign will involve allied armies fighting against a common enemy (read the strongest player at the moment). Since it will be a lot easier to co-ordinate battles together with human players compared to the ai.

And if you're not in the battle, just connect someone else's computer to a tv and watch todays episode of "history remade"

Looks like it'll be based on the RTW engine. What would be REALLY, SUPER cool, is if RTW and MTW2 joined so one could play the entire span of ancient history. From the rise of Rome to the end of the Renaissance.
Imagine taking the Brits from a ragtag band to the enormous power they would become later in the 2nd millenia.
But even if it doesn't, I'm SO TOTALLY psyched 'bout MTW2...

although i'm slightly disappointed they stuck with their familiar european setting, i suppose i'm willing to see how this turns out. anyway, i think too many people here are getting their hopes up too high, too early. even the best intentioned encouragement can easily spill over into overpraise and hype.

Supposedly the aztecs are going to be one of the playable factions. It would be very estupid for them to be able to conquer europe. I wonder how they will incorporate this.

Brilliant! I picked a bloody bad year to move home and set out on my own, I'll have to budget for months to afford a new PC! I need to marry a rich woman, too bad I'm in Belfast, heh.

Can't say I am really impressed , for sure is a good thing , but to me looks like RTW with new textures , finally CA decided to follow the sample of modders using more realistic textures, and some new features like mixed men in a unit and something more but apart from that what's really new?

I still think that some of my units and textures are more detailed and realistic than this one , but may be is just a point of view ....will see to mod it ....

Very nice pic. One problem though, the units look too detailed so we will probebly not get very large battles without upgrading our PC. Infact theses screenies make it look very similar to Age Of Empires.

It looks hundred times better... add to that the hypothesis that they're adding physics to accompany their 'new' animation-system....

You'll get horrible lag on normal computers...

Oh, and CA said "over 21 factions". This might mean that there are only 22 factions. But remember, its not just Europe we are talking about, we have Central America and maybe even Africa.
