I agree. You can see a semblance of faction colors in the skins (Blue is france, apparently, red seems to be English, and Greenish looks like Seljuk or Muslim), but it's far more acceptable than the skins of RTW or Bi.

Personally, I think the "Every unit looking different" will be a bit different than what is expected. We might not see every single unit in a 200 man group looking different, but we can see different shield emblems/helmets:

I think that it will extend not only to emblems and faces, but the entire skin, if modified like that. We won't be seeing a different 200 man army each time, but we should see diversity in our ranks.

Well we know now that most of the Medieval mods for RTW will be put on hold until the release of MTW2 and will be released for it. Also possible other mods like the Shogun one and Zulu. Seeing is believing and these pics while look nice are not INGAME footage yet. lol But I will most likely buy this title because of the medieval aspect of it and the SIZE of those Castles with Dual walls! lol Easy to make a small mod with new skins for MTW2. and plenty of time to enjoy SPQR until its released. ;-)

I will say that it looks great. But I will wait till the end to give my final evaluation on this game. I don't want to be full of false hopes like RTW. If all goes well CA should bounce back from RTW and give their fans a true game.

English forces amassing for a siege on a French city. Notice that the English have not only armed themselves with trebuchet for the assault. They've also brought along some cannon which will be more than effective at breaking down those French walls from a distance. The shot illustrates the sheer scale of the settlements found on the Medieval 2 battlefield and the layers of defenses such settlements will have to protect themselves from siege situations.

The front line of an English cavalry charge. Notice the variety in the units seen on screen in terms of armour and heraldry. Also see some units caked in the spilled blood of their enemies. The victim of that vicious lance charge lies prone on the battlefield floor. For the first time in a Total War game corpses are rendered in true 3D and will clutter the field of conflict as bloody reminders of the carnage.

A multiplayer campaing will be awesome , more than people thinks. One of the major complains of the game (or many other games) usually is about the poor AI in the campaing , is very easy to fool the AI in any game ,once you study their AI ,all you need to do is "something" the computer AI wasnt expecting in battles or in the campaing .. guess what? No AI in the world ,no matter how advanced and revolutionary can be , or how hard CA try ,will ever match a real human player with experience playing the game againts you (or by your side) in the campaing map. With a real multiplayer campaing the game not only can be a real challenge ,but completely impredictable.. you will never know what will be the enemy next move.

It would be also awesome too ,support for up to 3-4 players at the same time using diferent factions in the campaing . where they are free to choose wich faction (human/AI) will be their allies or enemies. . It will be a race ,To rule the world ,and humans players can turn AI factions againts you ,just to win some time ,until you are powerfull enough to face your friends in battle. THe game doesnt need to be only online ,far from that , A Multiplayer offline campaing in LAN will be even better. You simply invite your friends to a lan party and play all day a mp campaing againts them , and save the game whenever you want , and continue playing the next week in the same place you left. and repeat all that for several weeks until someone rules the world and finish the game.

A feature like that will be anything but boring ,simple awesomeness. as dificult to win like a chess game ,where there is no room for mistakes. since you cant fool your friends as easily as you can do the AI in the machine. Its unfortunate that not many people are aware of how much fun this could be for the game. ,because this feature alone can make game to jump to a whole new level. the more HUmans can play as faction in the campaing map at the same time the more intensive ,dificult and exciting the game will be.the greater the challenges and the oportunities. It will be the closest thing in a game to recreate the real challenges that faced past civilizations to create an empire. Contest about who is the best emperor could be done online. Is more suited for LAn parties where your friends will not disconect ,but can also be used online if you know the people you are playing and they agree to continue playing for several days/weeks until someone destroy the other faction. using the load/save fuctions to resume the playing later. THe possibilities to make the game more fun are unlimited , unfortunately CA have not seen the light of how good a feature like this can be , it quite possible that is not easyr to support this feature in the engine ,but the rewards will be far greater ,than their dificulty to support something like this. HAve heard of others Developers that support this feature in other games..So its not impossible to do ,it can be done.

Um...Saladins forces would be the Egyptians....

Though I am disappointed by 2 things. The generic "Russia", when it was divided into Kiev and Novgorod, and that there is no ARmenia.

I just hope my crappy ass Dell can handle this game .......if it can't well, I still have a year or so to by some RAM and a graphics card

I don't think my crappy 64mb integrated Video Card can handle those graphics.
