Theres mine; seems strange that it didnt list my processor (its an AMD Athlon X2 250 - 3ghz)

Happy enough I suppose; is my processor bottlenecking or is it just this program being unable to detect my current CPU?

Doesn't seem to recognize the I5-750 processor even though it's stated in the STW2 min requirements

Got the "unable to recognise" thing which others seem to be getting

Try it with Internet Explorer, had the same error with Firefox but IE worked.

Nevertheless, I wonder why my pc is over recommended settings but should just be able to run the game in low settings - we'll see, my pc never let me down so far.

It's a handy tool, but it's only really telling you the things you could learn yourself within a minute's effort.

Ah, +rep for you then, it's now working

Only confirms what I expected though, I need a new gpu and cpu to experience the game in the full glory (getting a gtx580 and an Intel Core i5-2500 [assuming it is compatible with it's new graphics functionality] so that should have me sorted)

I have a i7 at 3.4 ghz, and it gives me a better bar than recommended, it gives me a full bar, in fact, that can't be right.

I doubt that for Shogun 2 the difference between the two generations will be noticable, but It's strange it gives me a full bar.

IE tells me that I have no Java installed, when I do...
But updating Java seems to help too.

I always find game companies to be conservative with their system requirements. On my last laptop, my specs were under in everything except for RAM but I was able to run everything (except for particularly large battles) with a reasonable frame-rate.

I was wondering if one of you guys could help me. My knowledge of all things CPU are near non existant. I did that scan and my lame rig just about limps over the minimum requirements (pic attached)

So, an upgrade is needed (been looking at one for awhile) but the budget is tight, so a friend reccommended i have a custom build one. Problem with, i dont have a clue what im asking for, and whats value for cash.

So i have 2 builds im looking at, all roughly within the same price range, could any of you tell me which one will give best performance on S2TW whilst still being good value.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The first one is £801 and its specs are
    Intel i5 2500k quad core, (3.3gb, 6mb cache)+HD graphics
ASUS® P8H67-M LX SI: MICRO ATX MAINBOARD, LG 1155, SATA 6.0Gb/s motherboard
    8GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz
    1GB ATI RADEON™ HD5770 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DirectX® 11
450W Quiet 80 PLUS Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan
1TB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 16MB CACHE (7,200rpm)

The 2nd is £749 and its specs are
    Intel Core i5 760 (4 x 2.8 GHz) 8MB
    Corsair 4GB XMS3 PC3-12800 1600MHz
1GB XFX HD 5770 Graphics Card with IP-5X fan, Eyefinity
    Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 motherboard
OCZ 500W Stealth XStream - Low Noise
    750 GB SATA-II HDD 7200 32MB

Seems like a load of jibberish to me!

Would either of them even be close to playing S2TW at recommended levels?

Is it worth upgrading my Geforce 9500 GT to a ATI Radeon HD 5 series (for ~100euro) ? My processor is shite anyway. And whats the best nowadays, nVidia or ATI?

It says: "It should run on your computer, but you may have to play at a low resolution and/or turn down visual settings for acceptable performance." I was thinking of upgrading my 9800GT to a 1GB GTX 460. Should be able to run it on high then. The card is going quite cheap at the moment, too.

My PC is at home, but looking over some it would seem my GPU doesn't even need an upgrade (4870). As for CPU I'm i5, which is about mid-performance bracket. Don't really want to upgrade to i7 until next year :/

Wow, you guys confuse me! All this ATX, and I7 and what not!

What would be considered a standard rig to run S2TW at recommended?

Call me crazy but wouldn't it be better if CA had this type of test on their site?

Would that not be a good idea for liability reasons?

As a whole it would probably be better to have tests for a number of games on one site.

I think that the term 'recommended specs' is judicially sound in regards to the liability. I'm pretty sure they would have stopped posting specs on the box if it were not.

The more expensive has a better CPU but a worse PSU. A ridiculous amount of RAM too, but never a bad thing to have in excess. The GPU should be perfect for Shogun 2.

By that, I'd only worry about the PSU but only if you wanted to OC or Upgrade.

I'd go with the £800 one mate, bigger HDD, Sandy Bridge CPU, same GPU and more RAM. You'll be running S2 on Ultra I'd say.

If that site is accurate then CA created a failure.
If 90% of the people will have to spent from 100$ (new grafics card) to 800$ (new pc) then the sails will be rare. In this world finansial crisis people will stay with old TW games...

I think a CA member must give an answer to this "question".
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.
