    Default WORK IN PROGRESS World Map Mod

    Hi TWC community, I'm working in a mod that will replace the black areas with the real map, I'll start by connecting the theaters with sea, after that I'll add textures to Africa, China, etc

    Projects to the mod:
    • Connection between America and Europe
    • Connection between Europe and Ivory Coast
    • Connection between Ivory Coast and Strait of Madagascar

    • Connection between India and East Indies
    • Connection between Coast of Brazil, Europe, America and Ivory Coast
    • Add textures to land


    Due to big size of the file, I'll only upload it when all above is done, also take in attention that by now it is just a visual thing, you still not able to send armies or fleets to those areas. Though you will be able to see them.

    Just a question: are the files which connect Europe to America etc. (and which make those white squares) already discovered?
    I would be interesting to see a 'no sea teleport' sub-mod.
    I would downoad it immediately.
    Though, maybe it would cause problems for the AI.
    Maybe the AI ships are encouraged to go into those white squares and maybe they will stop moving to the Americas when those are removed...

    I'm not sure if somebody knows how to make impassable regions passable yet, though I'm trying to find out. If possible I'll incorporate it in the mod

    on the impassible to passible question, i know when digging about in the startpos that each trade thethre, region and piece of sea has its own region manager slot and contained within that is the coordinates and rigid slpines that control the areas borders. i think that so far they havent been able to be edited properly but maybe if you change the very edge of one to be the exactly the same as the next, or remove them entirely perhaps, might make moving in the sea possible, id imagine that this, in the very tiny miniscule possibility that it doesnt cause immediate ctds, would only be viable for sea regions, as most land wilderness is passable,

    on land wilderness maybe there is someting you could notice in comparison in the startpos between passable land wilderness, say central united states, and impassable wilderness llike by the right of russia/china/india bit

    I wish you the best of luck in this.... This is by far in my mind the most important add on mod thats been worked on.. and what I expected when I bought ETW was a full world map...

    Would be great too if we could give the European factions all their historical colonies in India and African e.g. Diu for Portugal and Tranquabar and Serampore and coastal Ghana for Denmark and Indonesia for the Dutch.

    Remember we can't add playable regions yet, so this won't make any factions more powerful just yet...it is purely aesthetic at the moment.

    In the future though, who knows what may happen?

    Can you add 'floating' pieces of land and shape it into an unique form?

    If you mean if i can copy a china map and use it to incorporate it in the map the answer is yes.

    I recently decoded sea_grids.esf. (one way converter only available for now, repacked coming soon)

    Does it look like it might be useful and relevant to what you're trying to do by chance?

    Yes, it seems very useful, although i don't know the meaning of the majority of those numbers, especially this one that you refer as:

    float with entirely unknown meaning (probably not distance, these are identically spaced cells)

    looks like a great project, I wondered why this wasn't done before. can't wait to see it done, and eventually it would be nice to add factions in, like China's Qing Dynasty, and I'd love the chance to alter history with a Japanese faction, would be incredibly fun to go conquering and colonizing as Japan or China in Empire. though that didn't happen historically, I love the "what if" scenario, like with what happens in Age of Empires 3: the Asian Dynasties, it'd only be better on a TW like this. and just a note for those who will likely fuss about it not being totally historical: no one said all mods have to be 100% history, even the fantasy mods, like Third Age: TW is awesome and very fun, so what's wrong in tweaking Earth's real nations to start moving out? the more variation, the more fun! anyway, great looking work here, hope it lives up to its potential

    Why CA can't help You with that? :/ IMO Empire has biggest potential of all Total Wars, if they ever release Empire II, I want to see whole world map in retail version.
