Default How to slow down battle speed?

    Hi,

I used to play MTW2 in a laptop with windows 7. I just got a macbook air and installed W7 as well, and I play the game here now.

However the battles are insanely fast. I have set all graphic resolution to the maximum, but still the battle speed is like twice as fast as normal, or more. the units move so fast it is impossible to play the battle map.

My other laptop is also quite new and has a very decent power, so it is not a case of the other version running slower than normal. I just switched to the macbook because it is easier to carry around.

So so question is..is it possible to slow down the game speed somehow?

    Thanks!
    Alan

I don't understand you are saying that the units move fast whilst in battle map?
Make sure the speed is set to 1.0 and i have never seen anybody complain about such a thing.

Exactly. The speed is set to 1 already. The units move more like it was set to 3 (they move faster than 2, bu not as fast as 6). I am guessing it must have something to do with how windows works on a mac..

For a slower battle, press shift while decreasind speed, then you'll be able to decrement speed by 0.1 at a time. (I say shift, but it could be Crtl or Alt, I'm not on my PC atm, so I can't check). That way you could play at 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, ...etc up to 6

It's shift key so you stand correct.

How do you decrease speed in this sense?

    would this be slo-mo then?

or is it still above 1?

    You can customize the speed in 0.1 increments between 0 and 6 (e.g. 0.1, 0.3, 1.1, 3.6), so it's in slo-mo if it's <1 and it's sped-up if it's >1.

Sorry for mega thread necro, but anyway to mod the default game speed to 0.9 instead of 1.0?

I like to relax when I play, so I always run my battles between .1 and 1.0, but usually around .4. I have Rome II, and wish there was a similar control. There is one slow motion setting in Rome II but there is no accompanying sound. What a shame!

That is a great question C.RYO. I would love to be able to mod the default speed to .4 instead of 1.0. Does anyone know if it can be done? I think I might ask in the workshop.

Unfortunately there is no script command to slow down battle speed - else you could make a small script to that effect.

Although you can simulate mouse clicks on the UI you cannot simulate the SHIFT pressing (afaik).

My actual goal is to not need to access the radar control interface when altering the battle speed as I do not want to be able to see the AI unit placement when fighting a battle. Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut that would provide the ability to change battle speed?
