I'd love it if there was a way to get this Spider-Man and the last X-Men part of the Marvel Movie Universe.
But alas, I doubt Disney/Marvel Studios and Sony will ever agree on that.
We need Spidey and Wolverine in the Avengers!

Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
I have to say it looks good.
Also, no Tobey McGuire, so yay.

Honestly, even Toby was preferable to this crackly voiced, preppy looking Peter Parker.
And what the hell is up with the portrayal of the Lizard? He can just switch forms when he wants or what? Also, whats with him threatening Parker in his human form? When he is Dr. Conners, he's supposed to be back to his well-intentioned self that's constantly battling his 'lizard' alter-ego.

I hope and it seems to me this one will be better then the Toby trilogy .
So, I was standing outside the theater today, thinking about seeing Spiderman, and decided NAW, I didn't wanna waste 15-20 bucks. Everything I've seen from it makes it look like a stupid hipster remake. Plus, I'm sick of rehashed, warmed-over reboots and old stories and I don't want to support that.
But is it actually any good? It's made a lot of money, but that doesn't count for much. So did 2012 and Titanic. Yesterday, they announced two sequels. Should I have gone to see it?
EDIT: Just watched the trailer. Looks like a *serious* film, attempting to follow the darker trend of hero movies of late, making them more realistic and gritty. But spiderman has always been a little cartoonish in general. Seems Batman's long shadow has fallen over this film, and not well.
Plus, I'll never believe Denis Leary in an earnest role. Looks bad.

Yes it's good. And no it's not that serious.
Spiderman himself is actually funnier than Toby was as spiderman, and the relationship between he and gwen is not nearly as emo as the one btw toby and MJ. but it's missing the humor of J Jonah Jamison, hopefully he is in the sequel.

Here's Half in the Bag's review of it.

Basically, they say the movie doesn't work. It's more serious, when a Spiderman shouldn't be too serious, and yet the villain is a giant lizard man. It also suffers from most superhero movies, where the origin story is good and then the rest is worthless. They do say Leary is good in it, though. But I knew that would be a given. Most of all they said it was unnecessary.

I saw it in the cinema the other day. I have to say it's not perfect but it's OK!!
We the willing, led by the unknowing are doing the impossible for the ungrateful, we have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
I liked it much better than the first 2 Spiderman movies. And I bet Future Filmmaker would dearly want to have a "delete post" button
The only thing I found too thin was the transformation, you need food(or maybe they didn't want to show that particular bit for fear of NC-17)
