    3? 5?
5 as default, but adjust it if that means less than x (3 or 5, maybe) modders/mods in a category go to vote?
I don't think there was a requirement before. I haven't been keeping up to date with the development of this in a while, but I think one nomination should be enough to qualify for a vote. If the nominee isn't popular it will be reflected in the vote, there's no point cutting out potentially good work/people just cause enough people didn't nominate.

This is part of the reason why I was supporting using the old vote format earlier in this (or maybe the other, I have no idea) thread.
Last year, there were no nominations at all.
Many people apparently found that format confusing, though I can't really see why.

No i have to disagree - it is there to not get 20 different options, if one does not get more than one nomination at all, he more than certainly won't win either.

So you mean simply skipping nominations but using exactly this princip for the actual vote ?
So basicallly the same threads i made just that it is already the vote itself ?
    That could work, too.

    So, 3 nominations then?

I think i got somethign totally wrong/different then

    - Well that would mean we wouldn't "waste" two more weeks....

So all I'd have to do is simply change the word Nomination in my two test threads and call it vote and we will already count the final winners....

I rally think i got somethign wrong....that would be easier yes

But if we skip nominations how will people know what to vote for? When will there be a chance for modders to showcase their work (even by simply throwing their name into the hat)

Work Compilation threads, like last year, is always a possibility.
They could run for a week before the vote starts. No need to close them once the votes start either.

That would be the advantage of "selecting" all with more than x nominations and people could vote again...then they have choices already and can simply click, even if they were too lazy to fill out such a nomination template.... + if some mod just gets one nomination at all, this guy could then vote "again" for another mod in the list...

That's something which makes things more confusing again i think

I don't mind how it's done, so long as there's a chance for people to somehow let it be known that they/their mod are running for an award, preferably in a centralised location.

Well than let'S finish this and simply change the words nomination to vote - and as we don't forbid advertisement of his own mod i think there is no need for such work compilation threads....
Then we have the two threads, can simply post them within the next days, will count the votes after one or two weeks ( i think it'S two) and we're done....

    Fine with me.
Just make sure to explicitly state in the thread, preferably near the top, that advertising is completely legal.

We need to be aware of a bit of quality control of the final winners...like, making sure they exist, and making sure they match up with the category. Wouldn't want to see someone get an award if they weren't the ones doing the work...likely won't be an issue, but it would be quite embarrassing if it did.

I'm feeling confused and lost and alone. How do you populate the voting list with mods if none have been nominated?!?!?

Just tell me when to count stuff and I will...

That's what we've got the vote counters for
Just make it a requirement to link to the modder/mod, and checking eligibility should be easy.

Also, the thread must state clearly that any eligible mod(der) can be voted for.

The nomination template is now the voting template.
No polls are involved, so there's no "voting list"
One can vote for any eligible mod(der)

Also: should we require 3 votes in every category one votes for? I think that's best.

Thats easy if you have a forum, what if you are operating of one or more threads, some of which are very quiet, yet well used among modders?
