Thread: Unable to install 'fixes'

    Default Unable to install 'fixes'

I have downloaded the fixes file from the compendium, but am unable to open it with anything. In properties, it is listed as having the filetype 'file.' Any suggestions?

    Running 32 bit Windows 7.

UAC is User Access Control, it protects WIN7 against threats

    Disabled UAC, still no joy.

Is there a certain piece of software I need in order to open this file?

EDIT: It's not even recognizing the filetype at present.

    Alright, problem is solved.

The file was named 'fixes' instead of 'fixes.exe' for some reason. Renaming it solved the problem.

Is there anybody I should PM about this? I downloaded the file several times, and each time it was named incorrectly.

It seems to be a give or take random.
Every time I downloaded it, it has opened without any problem.

It mainly seems that WIN7 users have an odd problem with it.

no...it's already in the install instructions on the compendium's original post...u just need to read the whole thing. Glad u figured it out. And it's a issue with some people's anti-virus software.
