    Me and friend want to make a server so wondering how did you manage to create one?

    You simply download the server .exe and run it, if you're using Windows. Make sure you have the correct ports forwarded for your friend or you to be able to connect. You can find a guide on the the minecraft forums.

    There used to be a very good topic about setting up your own server on the official minecraft forums, but it seems to have been unstickied because I cant find it anymore.

    You can also have a server hosted by a third party if having your own computer up is not a option.
