Battlefield 3

Anyone have any idea how large BF3 is now with all the updates? I mean I know that through having to reinstall it multiple times I must have wasted 100GB of bandwidth so far.

I start Origin this morning and it wants to repair my install that I haven't touched in over a month.


As far as the DLC's - after close quarters Im just going wait a week or two and get them on ebay for 1/2 price. I'm not looking to give EA anymore money, directly. The end to the SP campaign is coming out at the end of the year. I might get around to buying that in 2013 for $1, given all the games coming out Oct-Dec.




Please tell me that is the 40mm and not the Howitzer. Otherwise that is seriously underwhelming vs armor.

And that does not sound like the 25mm gatling cannon. That sounds like an HMG in the game.

There is just this gun, the MG (which is exactly like those on the helicopters) and 2 AA turrets on the Gunship.

And you are right...it nearly does no damage on vehicles (although I managed to blow a helicopter out of the sky with it ^^), but it is very effective against infantry.

They will prob come out with more updates to change stats in a couple weeks. They might notice a few things and decide to increase or decrease stats.


And what news have you heard about the end to the SP game?

Yeah that MG is just strange. I dont think they exist on the AC-130.

That cannot be the 102mm Howitzer that he is firing at the tank. That would be massively disappointing.

Sure. They have DLC cards that they will mail you or send you via email. Obviously the longer you wait the cheaper they get. But EA also complains to ebay so accounts get deleted fast.

Nah, it is more fun when you are repair tooling their tank and they jump out and you repair tool them and then continue repairing the tank and steal it.

I mostly play bf3 on my xbox360. Since the begining I've have like 4 updates ( + minor updates). It consumes F' 7,6 GB O_0

Do I need ever update on my xbox to play multiplayer or just the last?

Well the next DLC, in Dec, is Aftermath. No mention of a single player DLC there.

The next DLC after that is Endgame, which is prob a single player DLC, but that comes out in march.

Honestly, it wasnt that great. But then again Dice isnt known for making great singleplayer campaigns for battlefield.

Had a great time yesterday. My friend at DICE invited me to some sort of game dev. party. Got to meet the General Manager of Paradox, I saw David Bach (didn't speak to him though), and I met a whole bunch of people from DICE. Mostly QA folks, but others as well, like the audio analyst! Which is kinda cool to me, since I'm now studying soundproduction for computer games at the College of Skövde!

Also played AK some more. Alborz Mountain is so awesome. And pretty like nothing I ever seen.

Absolutely fallen in love with the L85, suits me perfectly. Very stable, perfect for long range firefights and fares well in medium/close.
