Res Bellicae: The Game
Hi TO all
I'm Writing a New Engine to make a new game from Res Bellicae ^^
A game Engine is just a "base" for writing games
Here it's the actual state of the engine:
REDER Engine:
Current State:
- Loading and Rendering Models in. X
- Loading and updating of animations in. Dae and. X
* Support for blending
* Added support for linked models ( horse and rider)
- Manage audio and video
* 3D sound support
* Uses the Windows codec (supports virtually any format)
- Input Management
* keyboard and mouse
- "Bullet" physics engine succesfully integrated
- 2D-support (with hardware acceleration in 2D renders)
- Internet-support (fully qualified to manage connections and data traffic)
- Support multithreading (and synchronization processes)
* Algorithm to minimize the waiting time of synchronization
- Exponential Shadow Mapping Algorithm for fast placed Soft Shadows
- Supports shader model 4.0 (and 5.0 if new card) and is based on DirectX 11

Re: Res Bellicae: The Game
Is it possible to have the game option menu where a player can set the number of factions starting from Nomad or small settlement and pick the building sites as they collect resources, advancing to iron age, like Age of Empires but on a RTW engine? Would be a neat game.

Re: Res Bellicae: The Game
Wow! So let me guess you are trying to "update" the game to the level of the latest TW games?
Will this include the possibility to increase the number of provinces, number of factions and units?

i got hte engine almost finished at basic level
got to go through
water
special effects on shader (i would like HDR rendering for instance)

Re: Res Bellicae: The Game
Any progress? This sounds great! You can therefore allow realistic unit sizes! 50, 000 man battles! Unlimited factions. And optimize the game for dual core processors? The possibilities!
