Was nice playing with you guys but the problem I had back in September is back, after a few minutes playing online Mincraft kills my connection!
Anyone had a similar problem?

Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

Does it give you an error in Minecraft itself, or does it just disconnect your internet?
EDIT: Found a thread on it on the official Minecraft forums: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewto...f=1013&t=22637
Have a look there if any of those solutions fix it for you.
EDIT2: It might be a more severe form of the "java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed" error, so if the above fails, check my post here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...34#post8638034

Hmmmm, that's an odd one. I'd suggest it was something to do with the recent update. But your best bet is to ask in the official minecraft forum's help forum.
Beli, I think you have the exact same problem as I have. Could you PM me with the details of the problem and if you've solved it already could you please let me know?
No it's not the recent update, Minecraft has been killing my internet ever since I tried to multiplay with it.
Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.
I doubt it'll help but, reinstall? I don't know where Minecraft stores itself on XP, but it'll be in the Appdata>Roaming>.Minecraft folder on Vista/7. Clear that folder out (copy your single player saves or just don't delete them), and the game will rebuild itself on startup.
Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of the day.
Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
on xp it will be in appdata>.minecraft
Has anyone got a fix for this problem?
I've got it.
Xp Service pack 3.
Neither of those are useful unfortunately, I don't want to buy another card and I'm not changing my OS.

Vista sucks.
Vista is awesome, ive never had any big issues with ever. Not with games or anything.
And it seems to be better than XP for minecraft
Dunno, I played Minecraft for 2 months (back in the summer) on XP without any problems, before I got my new system.
Did you have an Athernet network card, by chance?
Who, me? Realtek I think.
Damn. Seems to be a problem with Athernet cards by chance. (I did some searching on the MC forums.)
Well that sucks. Gotta wait until he fixes it.
i have that at the school computers lol
I doubt this is specific to XP, or Vista. I had the same problem on Windows 7, so I switched over to XP and found that the problem persisted.
After searching on Google I found this thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewto...p?f=17&t=22637
Basically, you need to manually update the drivers for your Ethernet card -- don't use Windows Update, links for driver downloads are in the link above. I use an integrated Atheros/Attansic and that solved it for me. Hope that helps!
Also, inferior? Really?
