After converting through GOM to .ms3d format all you have to do is double click the file and if Milkshape is installed then it will open up automatically in it.

You can save in a 30 day trial afaik after that you have to purchase it. Try using CTRL+S keys to save.

Hm strange did you downloaded the same version from the link i provided in the first post? Anyways uninstall it and clean your registry then with CCleaner after that restart the PC and install again see if that fixes it.

Thank you for this tutorial! I unfortunately have a problem that I need assistance with. I have followed all the steps, but my game now crashes upon start-up after I edited the BMDB file. Any ideas what could be causing this? I will note that before I edited the BMDB files the game started just fine, except the unit I had edited was a ghost. Also I opened the BMDB file with notepad.

Hm can you post you EDU and BMDB entries here?
Also is the crash like your game doesn't even starts or it crashes when trying to load that unit in custom battle?

It's quite strange as i haven't seen any member reporting such a problem the trial period gives complete access for 30 days, anyways it's not that expensive and the money is worth it so better buy it.

I solved the crash, but my unit still does not show up in battle. The reason the game was crashing was because I forgot to adjust the number of letters for each line in the BMDB. Like I said previously the unit looks great in milkeshape, I changed the unit models in the export_descr_unit file and changed the lines in the BMDB. I also used GOM to convert it back into mesh.

Heres the BMDB, I've underlined what I changed.
