Please do not open new threads about every bug you (think you) find in Secession Civil War.
Post them here in this thread instead. All new single question threads will be moved to this thread.
Pease always write your system (XP, Vista, Win7) and the version of medieval II you use (cd / steam).
Be sure to have correctly follow the instructions of installation.

ehm....the battles donīt work for me
tested four maps with single units and whole armies - ctd without a error message when the loading bar is at the half
the log says :
Code:
01:01:51.183 [data.invalid] [error] Could not open UI! Vid mem 518455296
then i have set the graphics to the lowest, but the problem is still there
didnīt work so far, but there is something other in the log and the loading bar process to 3/4
Code:
19:13:10.914 [data.invalid] [error] BATTLE_MAP_AREAS unhandled situation : See Charlie
19:13:15.237 [data.invalid] [error] Could not open UI! Vid mem 518455296
I don't know if its just me, but I have this bug where when infintry get close enough to artillary to begin firing their guns the cannons stop firing and just stand there and get shot.

Yes I saw.
We give "grappeshot" to artillery, but AI seems not used it. So, they don't do anything when infantry get close... I think we must rescript AI, but it's hard !
The things is, even the player cannot ordered grapeshot when ennemy is close. In the EDU, for future patch, we will have to increase the minimum range for normal projectiles, and decrease it for grapeshot, to force the AI to use it at close range.
i did all fixes, which are explained in the Win7 TATW thread (except for reintall, because other mods work) and get no running battle.
thr problem must have another origin
edit:
in the extra thread for my problem, someone answer this:
Did you try editing the shared.sd.xml or the strategy.sd.xml?
Another bug is when units march forward to attack they don’t stay in the same formation. For example if I made this unit of rangers 2 lines thick and tell them to advance toward confederate lines they automaticly reform into this 7 man thick blob. Its really annoying when your defending as the AI do the same thing and always are outgunned by your men.
The installer install automatically the mod in the medieval II directory, so all you have to do is validating the installation process. Concerning your bug, it seems you have not respected the installation advices, see the installation thread and read the instructions.
I read the instructions, installed it in the right spot, but the installer is in french (is that normal?) and followed the rest of the instructions
Edit: Reinstalled it, now i get the splash screen then a CTD. And ive done the windows 7 fixes to no avail
