Default How many "Of Royal Blood" traits can we have for one family member?

    Hi,
I've been playing SS 6.3 for some time, with Meneth's sub-mod compilation, and recently grown an interest in "collecting" royal bloodlines (before I vanquish them, completely). My kingdom of England, having my princess stealing an Of-Scottish-Blood general, now have 3 princes who all bear both "of Scottish blood" and "of English blood" (how fertile one princess can be ^^). As I was aiming to get one of them to marry a French-blood princess to obtain a triple royal blood, there was one incident that made me stop to ask more questions about these... bloodline traits.

A family member of mine (with only Of English Blood) + a Hungarian princess = a prince (with "Of English Blood" AND "Hungarian relation", NOT "Of Hungarian Blood")

How can this be? I mean, it should be "Of English Blood" AND "Of Hungarian Blood", yes?
Will this happen again if my English-Scottish prince marry a French princess?

I was really hoping I could, like, unite the bloodline of all Christian kings into The One King to conquer them all, legitimately.

I can have a look at the files when I'm at home, but as for know, I think all 'foreign' bloodlines should turn into royal relations, but I may be wrong on that one.

Your family members can have one "of name kingdom blood" trait and one "name kingdom relations" trait. The children of your English- Scottish prince will get the "of English blood" and "French relations" trait. They won't get "Scottish relations". Atleast that's my own experience.

During my Denmark campaign (SS 6.1) I got 4 or 5 ".... relations". Including: Polish, Byzantine, French and Castilian. I have married my heirs only with foreign princesses every single time. And after few generations princes were born with "of Danish blood" and a couple of "xxxx relations".
So I guess it is possible to have quite a number of it.

As i read the files - a son (and his heirs) of a french princess will get "of french blood" (or maybe it will only be the grandson - I'm not sure). Now, if the father was "of english blood" all sons of this bloodline should retain these two. imagine such a son married to a spanish princess, and their sons married to a aragonese princess and you have 4 royal bloodlines in one boy (and +4 loyalty and +3 chivalry and +1 piety iirc).

On the other hand there could be a limit to the number of bloodlines allowed. There could also be some nasty penalties as the inbreeding becomes too pronounced...

I suppose you could test it, but it would just take so long. So I hope somebody with the proper knowledge could tell us.

    Thank you all,

I am testing this one, currently, with Meneth's Live Long And Prosper, due to the fact that this sub-mod enable all generals to come of age at 5, which will shorten the testing process considerably. Still, it bugs me that Meneth's compilation seems to remove all notifications of the coming of age of all princesses, meaning we have to look every corner of the world to see if the princess of a certain faction is there yet...

the only of blood traits combo i've got was french + english. my FH marries the french princess. so his son got of english blood and of french blood. then his son married a scotish princess and the next kid got only "related to" trait + hates the french as a bonus. probly his grandma' never sent christmass gifts

little off topic question. how do u guys marry your generals or family members with other priencesses if they are not faction heirs ?

Just checked the files on this, and it (should) be like this (SS6.3):
Royal Blood is carried from father to son.

Royal Relation is carried over from father to son as well, but it is also aquired if the mother had a Royal Blood trait.

You can have only one Royal Blood trait, but there is no limmit to the ammount of Royal Relation traits you can pick up.

Actually, you can have multiple Royal Blood traits. In my campaign my heir got three. I think it works like this:

Marry your princess to a foreign general with the blood trait and their children will have both traits. Hope they get a girl so you can repeat the step with third bloodline. If you marry the boys you will only get the relations trait, but the princess + foreign bloodline will create the bloodline trait. Hope it makes sense

The catch is that those generals are not your immediate heirs, you will have to get rid of the rightfull heirs if you want those powerful generals as kings and princes

What does having the blood trait do? Honestly never tired to acquire them as usually at war with all neighbors anyway.

Ahh thanks worldsdead. That annoyed the hell out of me and I actually contemplated making such an ancillary myself based on the one in TATW, this saves me the trouble

    @Ichon
They give a little bonus to your general, usually +1 chivalry or dread and +1 piety or law. The trick is that you can keep breeding your generals every generation and have a veritable superman in the end!

I managed to get Scottish, French(mine), English, and German bloodlines into my heir... but it takes so much time that if you keep that family line alive, you'll only prolly get 8 at most, ass 2TPY only has 800 turns... or 400 years... It's hard to grow princesses

That shouldn't happen with the triggers I saw. It's either a bug or intended (I would go for the bug option), but I'm too lazy to check now.
