Great news, on both counts!

Cool. What is the light green colour in the shire? The hobbits? For real?
We still haven't figured out who the emergent faction is...
I would rather have a memory that is fair but unfinished than one that goes on to a grievous end.
Nomadic Uruk-Hai cavalry. It's got to be.
Jokes aside, the mini-map really does look very good. Lots of interesting starting positions from what I can tell!
How about the Orcs as an emergent faction? No longer under Adunabar command they form a faction and reconquer mordor and the misty mountains..
Harondor? It's mentioned as declaring its sovereignty, although it's a faction from the start?
Less likely, but mentioned, would be an Elf-friend faction. Don't think so though, as the Dev Diary hints them as part of the Elven faction (the men recruitable by elves that have been mentioned quite a few times now) rather than a faction on its own.

Yeah, thought so.
Then I can't think of anything
I've listened as close as I could, waiting for any mentioning of something from outside the map or unrest in a specific faction (which then might trigger the emerging of a rebellious faction a la Adunabar-RK) but I haven't heard anything in that direction.
I've got it, hurray! Do I win anything? The hint is actually very straight forward... in retrospective. It's no emerging Orcs or Elven-kings gone mad etc. If you have a look at the first dev video from 5:41 onward, you'll probably find out for yourself. Anyway - for everyone who wants to know now:

Of course! Casual Tactician is right; how could I have missed that?!
Dorwinion is a pretty small region and already a province of Dale. It's that province just north of Ered Rhûn were Celduin flows into the inland sea.

Well I'm not 100% sure if it's Dorwinion, though the only "large-ish" hint (as Aradan said) referes to the Kingdom of Dale possibly breaking apart. Perhaps it's not Dorwinion, but in the dev diary it's stated that the "eastern lands" of the Kingdome of Dale may "seek their independence". And on the map Aradan posted sometime earlier, the eastern part of the Kingdome of Dale is the area where Dorwinion is situated. So Dorwinion seems the most plausible candidate to me. It could be any other people or dominion, but I'm pretty sure the emerging faction will be located somewhere around the area of the eastern lands of the Kingdom of Dale.
I listened to the Dev-Diary again, and I think I agree.
