That is something I desire to try for a long time. However, I am quite unsure how will I manage my relation with other free folk faction as I would like to destroy only the Reunited Kingdom pretenders not to exterminate also elves, dwarves, rohirrims etc.. I guess I will have to destroy RK first, estabilish my position as the rightfull successor of Elendil and than try the combination of aggression and forced diplomacy towards my foes amongs the free folk factions.

Of course not, but I haven't made as much progress as I hoped either (.bpi files why are you so annoying?)

Finished the custom buildings yesterday, so once I get those in game I'll have something that will be halfway presentable.

Buildings differ too much in style and scale to be suitable for us, was never intending to use them. Their wall layout, settlement underlay, and settlement overlay on the other hand...

Wow. That will be really cool settlement to attack/defend. Only rams can approach to main rampart, no towers or ladders? That will be a killing ground. Can units go to the wall facing the inner valley?

Yup, the gate leads directly to the capture zone but only rams can go up there, so its very much a high risk approach.

Much safer to use ladders or towers to get over the Deeping wall, then take the path up the back of the valley but that will take longer, and the path is narrower there too.

have you tested to see if the AI can function in an assault?

Need to finish the pathfinding file first, but since it's essentially the same layout as the LOTR-TW Hornburg (as I said, I've made use of their wall coordinates, underlay and overlay) so I'm not expecting serious issues.
