    Default Does taxable_income_bonus actually work?

Hello, I've been trying to tinker with the buildings of SS 6.3 ... I noticed that it didn't utilize the taxable_income_bonus command at all in it's buildings, though i've seen other mods done so, but I tried it myself, while it does list out a "tax income bonus" in the build tree in game, it doesn't seem to actually display a bonus in the bar... is this something I should set in descr_settlement_mecanics? or is there more to this command ?

Just added a bonus of 5 (5%) to my building = no change in income from taxes (or from anything else).

So I take it there would be no way to fix this apart from modding the .exe file right?

Bummer. I feel like the amount of variety that can be had by a building tree is limited by the available bonuses.

i use it in my mod and i'm sure it works properly. it means: after construting any structures using this command the tax incoms incrasing (i'm using it with 2 and 3% values).

    Nope, it doesn't work.
However, since we can't use it directly doesn't mean we can't use it indirectly.

In the game we have the masons guild. The masons guild uses the capability CONSTRUCTION_COST_BONUS_STONE, however it is not displayed at the building profit page.
As something that gives huge advantage, we can list it in the game with a simple trick - use taxable_bonus_income, and change it around in text\strat.txt into saying:
    Code:
    {SMT_CAPABILITY_TAXABLE_INCOME_BONUS}Stone buildings cost reduction:
Now we add the taxable_bonus_income to the masons guild, and voila! the most important bonus of the masons guild is there! [You can also use other non-working capabilities for this]
Remember to have both values at the same level, ie:
    Code:
    construction_cost_bonus_stone bonus 30
    taxable_income_bonus 30

So there's no way we could actually make the tax income works? By really affecting the tax?

A nice idea to salvage the feature, gracul!

What bonus is that and how do you write it in the EDB?

Also, is the minimum increment for trade_bonus 5? If you put 1 in the EDB, in the game it will show 5%. If you put 2, it will show 10%. Can this effect be changed?

    It's like this, right? income_bonus bonus 200

You can't subtract anything with it, though. The bonus can only be positive. And you only ever get half of the number. If the first building in a tree has a bonus of 200, you actually only get 100. If the second building has -100 in the EDB, in-game the display is "+-100" and it takes away the entire bonus from the first building. Even if the first one has 200 and the second one has -20, it will still remove the entire 100 bonus from the first one.

yeah that's essentially how it works, it can only be subtracted if you already have some positive of it. it's not ideal but it's better than nothing as it gives you at least one extra different variable to income to work with.

Also on getting only 100 for 200, that's a variable setting in settlement mechanics IIRC. or one of those similar files.
