    Default XGM: Hellenic world

    After got permission from all mods that I love so much here I decide to start it as a sub mod for XGM 5.9.16

    To be honest I have no experience in modding and still learning about it
    here is some work in progress picture
    they might get change if I find a better looking model and texture for the unit
    I focus in graphic of units and make the Greek Campaign become a hardest by making a number of unique units in Greek world which cause camp become harder than ever(they replace normal unit of Greek)
    Greek from now on will only have phalangites and light inf able to build anywhere

    plus I also make a numbers of Legions so Rome campaign also harder to beat

    Also my English is pretty bad so some unit description might sound strange

    Very nice. I especially like the Triarii, Myrmidons, and Greek Hypaspists. Are the Romans your own creation or are they from another mod? Some suggestions...

    If possible, please remove the crests from the helmets of the Legionary Cavalrymen. It makes them look too "Praetorian".
    Include pila-throwing Sword Auxilia and Spear Auxilia as separate units. I like having a choice in whether I use swordsmen or spearmen.

    err i mostly base on XGM
    the new unit mostly come from Variag mod
    I only change the other factions units because too many request throw at my face
    about the Legion cavalry the have different shield and armor compare to Praetorian cavalry

    My aim is for only Greek but because too many other factions now in queue it will quite need a bit more time and I am going to have a test next 2 week so I busy study atm
    plan to upload the first testable version next month(of course if the guy who making new units for me able to finish those unique hoplite in time they will be include)

    but as I said Greek will soon be a super hard faction to play due to too many unique unit replace to normal ones cause no mass recruit unit anymore

    p/s: the 3 phalanx unit that Greek able to train now have a new look but I haven't done the unit card so it will stay there for a while till the next post as a small surprise

    Love the Thracian phalangites (both regular and militia) and Noble Spearmen.

    German double handed axman. Why do they have to have double bladed axes? There's no historical basis for it.

    just a bit burst for them
    they not strong enough so i change a little that can make them more big deal(it look better this way in my line)

    I also looking for a way to burst the Egypt cus if they aren't Human they only have number
    note: pls remember my aim only to make Greek camp as hard as impossible to win(don't blame me if you got FD that was my aim) by making a lot of unique unit that hardly mass produce

    @sparta198: I love those Noble Spearman the most
    but I did reduce their shield stat to 4(their shield smaller than hoplite, right?)
    that make them quite equal to Athenia Hoplite in fight(slightly better due to higher attack stat and the same armor stat) but suck when under missile attack

    Um, you don't need a *double* bladed axe to have it be a nasty weapon when it is made for two hands. The two handed war ax was never shown with a double bladed head through out the history for most part.

    dunno but I prefer a armoured d hand axeman than a nake one

    the corinthian hypaspists might look better with a different colour
    good work with the others though, especially the thracian noble spearmen
    can you put up a picture of them with their shields and spears in battle position?

    Btw are you planning to add more settlements? Since there are units there that are specific of certain cities/regions like the Argos hoplites.

    Argos hoplites will be switch to a Thracian melee unit that Macedon or Thrace can train(haven't decide about which faction will have them or both)

    I have no artist to help me out in modeling and textured so if I can't find a way to deal with Corinthian Hypaspist they might get remove
    I really don't want it

    release will be soon
    I current having some of my friends testing the beta
    but it base on the 5.9.16 so I will need to find a way to edit and port it over to 5.9.19
    it will be more simple if I can fix those bugs that Dime fixed (which mean my submod automatically become 5.9.19 cus I making a standalone one)

    Never had an issue with giving the axeman armour. Just the double blade head you gave his weapon. It look more fantasy than historical, in fact it remind me of the vanir axe in the Age of Conan, a Sword and Sorcery MMO.

    nothing wrong
    here is another version for that man
    but I prefer the armored one for buff German strength so I choose the current one(weapon come along with the unit don't blame me)

    They're using the same pelta shield as many of the barbarian skirmishers in the game (which I assume to be made of animal skin) rather than a bronze hoplite aspis, so yeah, shield stat should be lower than Greek hoplites.
