Why does this old man think he's immortal?

He obviously doesn't take very good care of himself. http://www.georgerrmartin.com/

My honest prediction: he'll finish A Dance with Dragons and get senile, get sick, or die before his next book. I know life expectancy is rising, but he seems to be using "wishful thinking", to politely say it.

    Thoughts, comments...

Well that G. R. R. M. Martin will die before the series is over is hardly a secret and so the big speculation will probably be: how will finish the series? I think that similar to how it was arranged after Jordan's death someone other will take over and fiinish the work that Martin started.

I think we should leave/lock/delete this discussion.

I find it frankly cruel that people believe a book is more important than a man's life. Who are we to comment on the way he leads his life? Be thankful he's written such an excellent series so far and leave it at that, please.
