Default The End of a Journey: Returning to Constantinople

it had been almost 3 years sense Andrew had left the city and yet it looked as if he had never left.... the ship still a few hours from the port the only reason he knew it was so close was a Omnipresent Shouting from across the sound....the nearer he got to the city the louder it was.
Hurrying down into the Hull of the ship he Found Owain fast a sleep in one of the Bunks

Owain Awake my friend We are almost there!

Owain says to the turk and says in turkish

Do I look like a Frank to you Mr. Sadiq?

My father was actually a tatar and I am familar to a degree with the turks. There armies are a balanced force of troops with the core being the highly disciplined janisary troops with the addition of Turkic Steppe Horse Archers and calvary

By blood im closer to you Mr. Sadiq then most Franks

Owain switches back to greek and says to Andronicus

So, My Lord, what exactly is the strategic situation and what is the task at hand

    OOC: Map please

    ooc sorry for the wait....

Owain dont blame me for the maps....Bareness so many places dont matter anymore only the Turks and those that could be our allies...

The Turks COntrol much of Anatolia only the Trebizonians and Karamese stop them from total expansion...both we have gained at least nominal alliances with ....if we could drain out the forces than we could easily intiate a declaration of war on all sides to the turks

Andrew sighed as he looked at the Balkans

Here at Kalilipolis is our most important target....all supplies come from and to here if we are to take it.....poof the turkish power in Europa collapses and we ,the Serbs, andPOssibly the Wallallchians as well will divide the land between us.... much of the turkish forces remain trapped in the east but they have gathered what remains here in the city of which i speak....we need the Serbs at least if we are to do such athing

Owain marks the map and says

We should isolate the turks fortress in Gallipoli instead of wasting our limited manpower in a direct assault

Also, We should cut off Sea routes to the Turks European holdings. I propose to give constantionple more breathing space and to help cut off Gallipoli we cross the bophorous into Asia

To assist with the attack in Asia Minor, I will send Envoys to my Tatar tribe and to eastern europe. With your permission I would like to offer the Eastern Europeaners and Tartars land in Bithynia
    (Asia Minor across the Bophoruos)

If they are able to accept my "lordship" they may have all the land from Nicomedia to Pamphladonia nd even further east to Trebizond if they do wish!....i Promise lordship does not mean i rule them just a Nod or so at the man that got them there if you will...

Looking at the Portion of the Mapping over the sealanes Andrew laughed

The tukish fleet is meager...after Adrianople fell much of their fleet in europe fell with it....however the venetians and us also had....altercations my fleet is currently trapping a large portion of theirs in krete until they relent

Turning to sadiq he Nods Sadiq quickly steps over jabbing his finger at a central point of Turkish holdings

Tyrnovo.....the Bulgars were once kings here....i Propose a divisioning of tland at this city between us, the Serbs and Wallachians....The City remains in my control as our original plan had Been though

So Owain how many men can you get for this fight hmm?

    Owain shrugs

3,000 warriors from my tribe, who nows how many more

Perhaps instead of simply taking over the land of the Bulgars and ruling them as subjects, perhaps we should try to integrate them into ruling the providence and give them limited self government. Maybe a Bulgar Duchy or Princedom that owes vassalage, tribute and troops to the emperor in Constaniople and follows the Patriarch. Perhaps we could replicate this system in other non Hellenic and non muslim places we come in possession of

My friend the Palace of Blachernae is where all important guest reside....and until the Battles begin these people only know you as a guest to the city.....so let us make haste it far west of us at this point...
Pointing to the West Andrew is surprised to see Phillip who quite literally throws the crown at him
You are the Basileus not me....and they despised me for that simple fact....
While blood looked as if to Boil a quick look at Sadiq Phillip Grinned
    Uncle Sadiq!
Child Filipos....Bekinder to your Leader please
Uncle forgive but he....has not had the hardships i had to Deal with
I beg to disagree but be calm we have a guest
Truning to owain Phillip nodded at sadiq before Bowing toward the man

hehe i dont believe we fought together at all sir...if i Recall both you and Andrew went quite mad.....it was Only Sadiq that fought out of any of us....
you are quite Blunt Phillip....sometimes holding thy tongue would be much wiser
a laugh is shared between the men who began walking toward the Center of the City. By the Time they reach Prinkops Square the crowd was surrounding them
Do not Worry Owain the people only wish for me to speak
Jumping up so that he stood nearly ontop of the Statue of Alexius Komenos [an Idol of Andrew]
    Your Basileus Has Returned

Pumping his Fist in the air the crowds reation is mixed Many do heer him but some are just quite passive a Few even Boo him Turning his Gaze down to Phillip he simply asks
    What did you Do?

    Owain climbs down

Perhaps we could form an alliance with the knights of St. John and I could appeal to the people of Poland and Hungary to fight the turk because after the Empire falls, the balkan Kingdoms will not be able to halt the turks and it will be up to them

Also, perhaps the patriarch should send an envoy to the various Rus States, their quite Pious Othrodox Christians, are they not. I am fluent in Russian and would be willing to lead such an envoy

    Owain shrugs

That must of been Nikolai I was thinking of

Owain climbs the statue and address the crowd in greek

I am Baron Owain von Schwingler-Mironov of England. I am tatar by blood and was raised by a othrodox monk and follow the patriarch. In England I became good friends with the Basileus and due to political trouble, I have come here to aid you in your fight against the turk. I have fought almost constantly in the wars and rebellions of the latins for nearly forty years and I shall offer my advice

    Roma Invicta
