Default Install Problem - Error applying transforms

    Hi,

I had RTW installed on my pc with mods some time ago.
I then uninstalled RTW yesterday and wanted to re-install it.

Now I tried to install it again, and when the Windows Installer for configuring I got the message "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are Valid. C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{.........}\1033.mst"
Between the { } there is a whole line of numbers and letters, I believe it started with A642BB2B.

    What should I do?
    Thanks.

Edit. This is the specific path C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{A642BB6B-CA1D-4142-8DD4-318C3F3DC834}\1033.mst

Yeah it's a registry key. Clean your registry. There are some free ones like ccleaner.

did that both with a reg cleaner and manually. the error changed to "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are Valid. e:\1033.mst" which is my cdrom drive.

Got it! If anyone else has this issue, you need to manually delete all registry keys associated with the error message. Just run "regedit" and search for the key in the error message. even after you delete them you will still get an error message, but it will say ".......e:\1033.mst" or wherever your cdrom drive is at. now you can't install from the cdrom, but if you burn the CDs to an image file you will be able to reinstall from the mounted image. Damn that sucked! Reformat the hard drive my ass!
