I made it to 1728 as Portugal in the 13 colonies campaign before I exited to go to bed. I was playing it without the rendering and fife and drum downloads because I had the crash early on as France with them.

Ok all can I just remind everyone who gets CTD in game playing or using the INDIAN factions that the sounds enabled mod may cause these games to CTD! I remember back in TAR 1.8 that CA's vanilla voices for indian factions cause problems with sounds and atmospheric effects.
I am unsure if there was any fix for this but feel to try the above out
hip63 - thanks for latest Beta patch fix, all working here in sunny Newcastle!!
This should be the menu for the original Empire grand campaign(1700), but somethings obviously corrupt here,so first,verify your game through steam and try again plse!
And which Mods did you install;the beta plus which add-ons (if any)?
And did you close the laucher while installing add-ons and patch 2 ?
And can you play any of the TAR campaigns ?

juve - i think a reinstall is neede here mate, uninstall and reinstall into your correct directory where TAR is installed
Ok,uninstall TAR,make sure you take out everything TAR related like the TAR folder in Campaigns,any save games and all TAR scripts,then verify through Steam again and first check if vanilla runs correctly!
After that install TAR again;

And it should work correctly!
Keep us posted please and welcome to the forums!
Oh and Juve,have you tried resetting the TAR scripts through the launcher as well ?(diagnostics option)
