That describes most of his movies - long but good.

You mean the Kurosawa movie, right?
    If so, definitely yes.

I can't be bothered to describe it all though. Been years since I saw it.

A great film. But not my favorite Kurosawa production. That would be Ran or Dersu Uzala.

Kurosawa was a genius and all his movies were masterpieces. The "Seven Samurai" is a true classic and this thread reminds me to get off my lazy butt and buy a copy.

    I voted yes.

It's one of his best ones, IMO. Only suppassed by Ran and possibly Yojimbo

    (Hidden Fortress coming very close)

Yeah I really liked it. I remember thinking the same afterwards: "Wow it was long, about 3 hours but it was still very good"

Of all his movies, I only saw Ran, and I rather liked it. I've been wanting to see 7S, but it's damn hard to find.

Ran is better; but Seven Samurai is an awesome movie; and a real classic.

Yes, it has the same exact plot as well. Magnificent Seven is the American remake of it in a wild west setting.

Well saying Ran is better doesnt really make sense because they are 2 completely different kinds of movies. Ran is a theatrical drama while Seven Samurai is the epitome of a fun action film, theres laughs theres tears, theres heros and bad guys, and is one of the most unfluential movies of that genre.
