the City States of Italy
Since the Roman empire Declined in Italia and throughout Europe. Each of the major urban locales in Italy Where able to preserve and retain their specific benefits and holdings which the Empire was able capitalize on. Now independent of Any structured Authority outside of their own interests have flourished into unique and independent “city States” resembling the Hellenistic era in Greece.
