Default All my governors become "The mean"

I searched for "the mean" in all forums, nothing came up (what am I doing wrong?)

But anyway, nearly all my city governors have gotten the "miserly" trait and the epiteth "the mean". Is is because of very high taxes?

    Yes.
Edit: miserly seems to be because of you being often under siege.
    Code:
    Trigger undersiege
     WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd

     Condition IsUnderSiege
           and IsGeneral

     Affects Miserly 1 Chance 20

Excuse me and pretty please. Could someone show us the affects of this trait. Okay being under seige is stressful so I'm assuming this is a bad line of triats.

Once Miserly, will this trait get worse no matter what you do?

Yes, if it gets to level 2, Hoarder of Wealth, you're screwed.

That is an incredibly stupid trigger - he becomes greedy because he's often under siege??

Money/food/resources is tight during a siege. Therefore, he easily becomes too cautious with money/resources.

I have an old crusader general defending Iconium against wave after wave of Fatimids. he has almost maxed out everything, an amazing chivalrous knight and ultimate general - yet he's known as the miserly

Break the siege on the first turn, then it'll never trigger.

You said "if", so how does one stop this nightmare? Taxes to low + infinity?

Thanks again for the script print btw...

Why doesn't he become better at using resources efficiently instead? We can always explain something so that it makes some kind of sense, but this one doesn't in my view ..

Actually, the anti-trait, Generous, seems to have no triggers except random birth, generous/miserly dad, and self perpetuating.

    Who knows?
I could add a chance for it to trigger GoodAdministrator too, I guess...

The triggers for RR/RC might be different, I have no idea.

For future reference: You need to specify your mod version else it is assumed that you are using 6.3 when you post without any such info in the main forum

Recruiting spies and assassins is the quickest way to get a mean governor, no matter if your taxes are low or high.
Life is a joke, and one day you gonna laugh yourself to death about it.

You have to pay attention to the thresholds (thresholds refer to amounts of trait points granted by triggers). For example:
    Code:
    Trigger undersiege
     WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd

     Condition IsUnderSiege
           and IsGeneral

     Affects Miserly 1 Chance 20
This means that each time undersiege you have 20% (*note I've lowered my %'es so yours might be higher) of gaining one point (or threshold) in Miserly.

Unfortunately the trait is self perpetuating:
    Code:
    Trigger selfperpetuating26
     WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd

     Condition Trait Miserly >= 1

     Affects Miserly 1 Chance 1
As you can see again I've changed my chance to gaining 1 threshold of Miserly to 1% (this might seem very low, but think about it, if you're playing the game over 100 turns there is still a good chance you will accumulate some thresholds). My point is you should look into lowering this value also, as original value is much higher.

edit: I am using SS 6.3
