Well, it seems we are utterly screwed.

Not entirely - at sea, quite possibly On land however, you'll be able to get by if you manage to just stop the Japanese from landing with your Pacific Army, since it's obviously the marines who will strike first.

Also, you can just detach the incomplete battleships and fight with just your other ships instead.

True, but the Battleships are the key of the fleet, and i can probably wait one more day

And we have no idea where they will land. We are screwed, yes indeed. California has a long coastline.

    Screwed like a lightbulb.

Well then we'll enforce the whole coastline in blocks! Build seaside trenches, pillboxes, machine-gun nests, guard posts all at regular intervals! Place sea mines, organize patrols by the Navy and Coastguard! Talking about how screwed we are isn't going to solve anything: We need to act!

Perhaps raising some Militias in the area would be of use...

seaside trenches, pillboxes, machine-gun nests, guard posts
Doubt that all of this is possible in the time that we have. Maybe machine-gun nests and some limited trenches. And we have a smaller force, plus the huge Californian coast, we wouldn't be able to defend their invasion place if we were that spread out. Lets be real.

Well then evacuate the cities near the shore and dig in farther inland?

you see, if you people didn;t stick you nose in where it doesn;t belong, this wouldn't happen . But historically, a Japaenase plane was hot down in Oregon I believe, what if they invade there or Washington? Hell even Canada.

Maybe we would have time if you would at least try! The point is to get as much as we can ready to go before the invasion so we'll at least be somewhat repaired! Pillboxes aren't even that hard to set up, they're a metal shell with a hole for an MG!

Hey, since the RCW is now technically started up, how about we work on sending good old Admiral Kolchak some aid as well as the Greeks?

Actually, there is no RCW, the Provisional Government's survived and is now trying to (re?)conquer Belarus & Ukraine. I rolled a die to see if the Reds take over in Russia, check the relevant event.
