Made some comparison shots of Mangerman's cathedral.
Might make some more of a non-stone building and interior later.

Painterly wins in terms of customization (IMO), and the Quandary texture packs are great for atmospheric changes.

    Oh yeah, I forgot Quandry's

Personally I like Soulscribe's pack, though it doesn't have that vintage low-tech Mine Craft feel

Soulscribe has some ugly tree trunks it seems.

There is a Texture Pack competition going on currently, so that should produce some interesting new (or improved) texture packs

Peasants pack is for those that like the cold feel of medieval london it would seem...
John Smiths is for those who just want a nice warm fire to go to...

Painterly in my opinion is the BEST because its completely customizable, dont like a certain texture BAM changed.

OH yay, make it good. Cause I just lost my texture pack for some reason. And I'd like a good one for my new pack

I'm thinking of redoing this, and add some simple and HD packs. Does anyone have a building out there with a lot of different materials used?

John Smith not the most popular? I don't keep track of the Minecraft forums so I don't know there but the general consensus here seems to be that John Smith is the best.

Just been looking at scribblecraft that was featured on Gameinformer, pretty much minecraft as done by a five year old lol. Tempted to download it just to see what town looks like, Minecraft could be interesting Borderlands-esque also.

Painterly is popular enough to support their own website where you can customize almost every entity in the game.
