"The Gauls were distressed above all things by the heat and their thirst, to both of which they were unused" - Plutarch
What event is Plutarch refering to in the quote?
The Galatians in Asia Minor, isn't it?
I.E., Thracian Gauls who came to Asia Minor at the behest of the King of Bithynia.
Carrhae? If this is a quiz, it belongs in the historical quiz section
Yeah, my guess is Galatians in Asia Minor.

It was the gauls Crassus took with him on his ill-fated Parthian campaign. In particular, Plutarch is referring to the battle of Carrhae and the Gallic cavalry under the command of Crassus's son, Publius Crassus.
Edit: And to clarify, they were not Galatians but rather, Crassius's son had just come from campaigning with Caesar and brought the Gallic cavalry with him. Plutarch says 1000 handpicked men.
