    Default release date for 2.0`

    Been following this mod and looks very interesting, i play dathmod and it a great mod so wondering will this mod also work with darthmod being on the computer or cant you run both?

    or do you need to download some file to make them work together for 2.0 ?

    be great to see when mod comes out, wish i was in beta

    You can have both TAR II and DMUC (possibly normal darthmod as well I don't know entirely) on the same computer at the same time, you just need to make sure one of them is deactivated.

    looking forward to seeing the mod, even though im a brit im sure i will like playing with the americans..though i allways do like playing american indians and capturing america.

    who said a bow and arrow cant defeat a army.......(well 10,000 of them helps )

    i been playing etw for a while and darth mod also.

    I got question though which i really been trying to find out for a while but so far unable to find the answer on the typical ETW forums.

    Is there any mod or current process where combat is realistic ?

    By this i mean,in real times the armys had a hit target of 1 out of 10 musket shots hit home at 100 feet.

    50 feet this then went down to 1 in 3 hit home,

    Due to this many battles were close range smokey to the point of crazy, and many armys broke and fled after around 25% of their men had been killed no more, for most deaths were caused by the chase and routing aftermath.


    I really want ETW if possible(you guys know the engine best) to be more realistic, as atm i feel the whole ETW and at times total war series has gone downhill a bit recently with realism which a shame sinse they keep telling us how much effort they go into historical accuractey.

    Example, prussia, had machine like infantry which marched into hails of musket fire and didnt rout like most nations did, then fired back then charged, to deadly effect.

    Id like to see battles where to get to point, longer range shooting = less kills, closer range= more kills,

    this would make game 10000x beter as you could start using real tactics like french colums ect.

    sorry for long post but id love to know once and for all if this possible with game engine or will this simple range= damage ever happen in a ETW game?

    @roadrunner;TAR and DMUC are 2 Mods that combine Historical realism with gameplay as good as can be expected from a Mod!

    If you love DM,youll love TAR as well,and vice versa,so why dont you give it a try ?

    darth mod is a great mod no question, and it good that you using it.

    But it seems unable to make a lot of the typical realism effects happen in game and wondering is this a mod issue or just that the ETW game doesnt allow for typical realism.

    Main example like i said.

    Range and damage, longer range less damage closer range more damage,

    second would be moral and fighting, ie infantry charges ect.

    So far i have never seen a game where a good tactically charge by infantry has worked sadly, mainly due to the crazy nature of the gun damage at range.

    if ETW doesnt have game engine to allow such realism maybe a opening in the market (men of war is to company of heroes alternative)

    the game does not allow us to be completely realistic, but considering many =people think that DarthMod is the most realistic mod for ETW...(not all, I know DM isn't the only option)

    DarthMod does that as well, but it is designed to make the AI shoot it out if that would be a better tactical idea.

    DarthMod musketry will not kill many men at long range, at close range, it will kill many many many.

    interesting info, i done some tests and i think the game engine doesnt allow for proper realism though sadly.

    I agree it better than normal ETW but some things still happen a lot.
    IE infantry just go into range then shoot each other and that it till one of them loses all their men if equal moral or runs if lower, kinda wied.

    I then have tried a typical tactic of rush into close range shoot a volly or two then charge sadly very little moral shock seems to happen and turns into just a melee fight.

    Online you find most games just a shooting match or camping match due to the very nature of range+damage, ie players just camp and camp untill one of them moves into the other players range limits then tends to lose as they dont get the first volly off kinda silly at times.

    still i hope the new total war games will include more realism with range and damage and shock as the new videos seem to suggest.

    Hips currently looking into the stats and morale settings for the American Revolutionary Wars units,so to make them as realistic as possible without ''damaging'' the gameplay !

    As hip mentioned on the DM forums ,that all modding work on his part has come to an end,

    Will it be 2011 before TAR 2.0 sees the light of day or are the other team members still planning on having a 'beta' release?

    It will be 2011 before TAR 2.0 is been released to the members, but I understand we are looking at the possibility of a Public beta release in the meantime, this is not confirmed though.

    Salvo has said I can use models from the EW2 mod as long as I credit PrisonNeo. So maybe in future we could implement the "early/late" model system of EW2?
