But not for future expansion. It doesn't have to be Antioch, but the capital should be toward the west of the Empire because the Empire of Awesome is going to go west.

It all fell apart. Despite me killing ALL their family members in the middle of the monster mash. I couldn't get that final push against the Thorkies. I need Cade to do anything with this stack. They just aint awesome enough.

Right. The fight I've been waiting for. Another shot at the best army of doom. With another army of Awesome. Unfortunatly. It's not the field fight like I wanted. But in my infinite wisdom. I chose to fight the sally. With the towers and the walls. Hoping that the elephants I brought would make short work of anyone walking out the gates. Failing that. I had hoped I had enough archer and Horse Archer support to make a pin cushion out of anyone who walked out the gates. I even brought TWO WTF TWO units of Median Cav worth 5k each. I was kitted out mad style.

Yet in this oddly serene and slightly artful for this AAR's screenshot. It just wasn't meant to be. The elephants were wasted by the Thorkies Javs before they got close. The archers did their jobs. Just the constantly reforming lines brought them into range of the towers. Same with the horse archers. In the end I went for a massive blob of men hoping to kill their general and crush their morale at the same time then force my way into the gate. Fight the center lot and win. Block the ally way for three minutes and win.
That also didn't work. Only two units routed and the rest held firm. My final attempt which should have happened earlier was actually trying to siege the walls and get men rushing on the inside. I had no men to commit en masse, the ladders were attacked en route, one tower burnt from the walls and the other routed.
At least I killed 500 of the gits. Only 1200 more to go.

State of the empire. At least I've got some serious money coming in. I've been able to start really producing and getting the economey going in the last few turns. But that might all have to stop for the need of men.

Despite all my short comings. I'm comfortably now in 3rd for the best ever faction in the game. YAY!!!!
Yet i'm barely only half the romans strength. But they are starting to decline..Hopefully it'll continue and I'll be able to fight them with some decent men. Falxmen in Thrace should suffice.

I do, But it's for a later version and XC updates quite regulary. I'm a few versions behind. It's playable. But the Public order changes make it REALLY tough.
