Andy leaves Mexico City searching for the Mexican Imperial Army.

when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.
Andy salutes and stands at attention immediately.
"Good day, sir. My name is Private Antonio Ferrando, Mexican Imperial Army. I have heard word that the Mexican Republicans are causing a problem and I have come to offer my services to the Emperor."

The Rifleman claps and beams.
"Excelente, Private! Come with us, we've just finished foraging and must now report to Sergeant Salazar. You'll be most welcome in our unit, one of our comrades bled to death from a wound to the leg a few days ago and we've been looking for a replacement."
Andy smiles and salutes.
"Si, sir, I would be most honored!"

As the three men make their way back to camp, another Imperial Rifleman runs up to them and shouts,
"Hoi! Calderon's just reported a bunch of Juaristas closing in on our camp! Sergeant Salazar needs all of us to take up positions and get ready for a fight!"
While the other two soldiers run off, the Rifleman turns to Ferrando.
"Eh? And who might you be?"
Andy nods and salutes the rifleman.
"Name is Private Antonio Ferrando, sir. Served in the war against the Americans in '45, and fought for the confederacy in the American Civil War. Been looking forward to fighting for Mexico again sir."

The soldier nods.
"I take it you can use a rifle then? Heh...anyway, report to Sergeant Salazar just a short walk north o' here, as you can probably guess we've got a situation on our hands and the more men we've got, the merrier."
Andy quickly salutes.
"Si, Senior!"
Andy makes haste to find Sergeant Salazar.

Within a few minutes, Private Ferrando reaches a crude encampment with the Imperial flag flying over it. A man in an officer's uniform, not even looking up from the rifle he was loading, barks,
"Halt! Who are you and what are you doing here?"
Andy salutes and stands at attention.
"Private Antonio Ferrando, sir. I ran into your group of foragers and they thought you'd need another man in the fight."

The man finishes loading his rifle with a satisfying 'click' sound and looks up.
"I do. Sergeant Salazar, Private. I take it you know how to use that gun on your back?"
Suddenly, shouts and gunfire can be heard from the other side of the camp. Sergeant Salazar immediately turns and runs off, shouting,
"Well well, the Juaristas are here! This is your chance to prove yourself before Dios y Emperador, boy - get moving!"
Andy runs down the line and finds a small hole in the ground. Lying down on his stomach, he quickly loads his rifle and pistol, fixes his bayonet, and perpares himself for the all too familiar ritual of a battle.

The Imperial soldiers have taken cover behind crates, rocks and crude barricades, and are shooting back at the Republican fighters on the other side of the field, who have also taken cover behind various rocks and trees. So far, nobody seems to have died yet...

Ferrando's first bullet catches a Republican soldier in the chest and leaves him to bleed to death within the next few moments, but the second only knocks a Guerrilla's sombrero off. Meanwhile, the Republicans shoot an Imperial Rifleman dead and nails another with a bullet to the hand.
Andy takes aim at the Enemy Sergeant and fires, attempting to throw the enemy force into disorder.
