    Awesome Film especially the siege.
Agreed. I first saw this movie as a teen, and that was a long time ago. Great fim, and Kirk Douglas is really a riot as a despotic Viking.

    Dear all,

If I can add a few great movies from a bit of time ago, first one is (Franklin J. Schaffner, Charlton Heston, etc.):

    and still with Charlton Heston:

    by Anthony Mann.

I especially recommend the one that may be the least well known, The War Lord, which is pure dark ages!

Yeah, shame really ... it could have been so much more than a lame art house flick.

The director's cut was much better.

For a more traditional fantasy take on the King Arthur legend, I recommend Excalibur.

Please excuse the cheesy 80's trailer.

The vikings is in my opinion the best dark age film that was ever made until now, followed by king arthur, though the Centurian also gives an era of the "dark ages".
There's nothing to fear but fear itself...

The Viking Sagas was pretty good movie. On the other hand Erik the Viking was a pretty funny movie
