Hi everyone. Just a quick note about a problem that occurred this week. Once I've modified the unit info and unit icons for 2 units I've noticed that the loading screens in my mod aren't ... loaded anymore and moreover the custom faction flags (Serbia,Moldavia) on the campaign map and in battles vanished (I mean they were replaced by Catalonia, Crimean Khanate's flags etc.). I've checked several time the contains of my mod and everything is still there, but somehow isn't loaded anymore in the game. Do you have any idea of how to deal with that? Thanks a lot.

    Cheers,

Just found out that I saved the new file as a "release" and not a "mod". This can be so frustrating ... But everything works properly now.

    Dear all,

It seems that things are moving quite well and hopefully in a while we'll be able to have a beta of this mod. However, I would very much like to add Romanian names to the game (though names will necessarily be inaccurate) and I'm not sure about how to do it. I remember trying it once some months ago and it was quite a failure . From what I've read this would imply : 1. modifying the localisation.loc by adding the names; 2. changing the reference in the factions db. table; and something that I might miss (modifications in startpos, changes in other db files? ). If you have an idea about this could you, please help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    S.

I had tried also one year ago for Finland and CTD. So I had proceeded using an existing language and change the on screen names (second column of the _loc). But I think it is time to try again for a final solution. Make the lists for male, female (just a few for queens and princesses), first name, surname and send them in a PM. I'll make it either way.

Excellent work on the "Rosiori" unit. With limited resources you still manage to create a unit quite accurat historically. So what is the timeline of the mod? Just 1821 - 1848? Because there's a few good mods out there that have 19th century units, maybe you can get some Prussians, French etc. units.

Thank you, Wallachian for your appreciation. To some extent this was the idea - to get the most of the nappy without interfering too much. This is also about my limited modding skills . As it's a first major mod I would prefer staying on the safe grounds the game has to offer. However, as I'd like implementing some very "local" units, I might take a look into other mods, especially those for Empire (some greek units in Ornamentum, or the Hungarian Hussars in Empire might be interesting. Anyways, we'll see...

    Cheers, and keep close.

Great work, Mircea . It is precisely what I was thinking about - I really appreciate the captains and generals section - brilliant!. I might add a few more myself from a list I made ages ago for Victoria and I'll send the list to Husserl.

    Cheers,

Just have in mind that there is no way to distinguish which name will be for what group (generals, gents, rakes, etc.) except the royal names.

You're absolutely right. Neither the names will be accurate, as the game will generate them randomly, I guess. But still it will be more fun to have them.

I was underlying mircea's contribution with respect to the captains' / generals' names as they are quite difficult to find. Indeed one needs to have some real historical insights into this period of Romanian history as it was the very beginnings of the Wallachian army - 1831/1832. Before this time the military forces of the principality consisted only in princes' guard and some local militias for policing. There were also some rebel groups and/or Romanian volunteers in Russian army who would serve in the wars against the Ottomans - and mircea manged to get some of their names. As the information is quite scarce and confusing, finding the names of this captains may be challenging.

I'll finish the list these days and hopefully it will work

A big thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    S.

Thank you for your interest. Hopefully it will be done in short time (at least a beta version ...). As for the editing, take a look here. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=347507. It is a very useful tutorial.

Very awesome units, can't wait to test them!!!!! You could ask pickelhauben to give you his hat (aia nemteasca cu tugui, cum e in poza dorobantilor) for more accuracy, too.

Have you finished the map, also?

Hi, RO Citizen and thank you for your comments. I could try asking pickelhauben for the hat, though I think this type of helmet was used starting with 1866 after Charles' accession to the throne and one of the various reforms of the military. But I might try . The first version of startpos for the beta is done for about 3 months and it works. I might want to change some things, but I think it will be for another release.

I would very much want to focus on an AOR right now in order to balance the game and to make it more realistic and fun, so if all of you guys out there have any ideas, please post what you would like to see and where. My intention is to make the campaign quite challenging in order to limit the expansion for at least first five years in the campaign.

This mod is looking better and better!

By looking at your pictures i can see that the units have the Romanian flag. But at the start of the game there was only Wallachia and Moldova as separate states. Is it possible to make a script to unify the states and change the flags and the name of the faction? Same questions goes for German and Italian unification.
