Ha, good to see someone from the TTW forum here Yeah, i believe Bulgaria will be a custom battle faction and the Ottomans will have Bulgarian units (unfortunately due to the un-modability of the map there won't be a Bulgaria faction in the campaign)

One unit the portuguese should have, as elite unit, is the Portuguese Expedicionnary Corps, "O Corpo Expedicionário Português", which fought during the last two years of the war being almost completely decimated in the battle of La Lys. Some pictures:

EDIT: I found this early uniform, when the unit was training in a place called Tancos:

The colour of Portuguese field uniform was similar to the French horizon blue. It consisted of a single-breasted tunic with stand collar and fly-front. It had parallel pleated patch breast pockets with pointed flap and button, but no side pockets. The tunic was worn with matching pantaloons and puttees. The greatcoat was double-breasted with large fall collar. Officers wore a single-breasted greatcoat with six buttons in front, pleated patch breast pockets, and slanting side pockets.. Officers also wore a long grey cloak with dark-blue velvet collar, and pointed grey cloth collar patches on which were worn the badges of rank.

The peaked service cap had a matching cloth-covered peak with row of silver braid for officers and natural coloured leather (silver lace for officers) chin strap, and the arm-of-service badge was worn on the front. The special fluted steel helmet was believed to have been manufactured under contract in Birmingham, England.

For the most time officers used the same basic uniform as their men, but some did wear open tunics with grey shirts and black ties, while others wore tunics with large “bellow” side pockets. Matching breeches were worn with brown leather field boots, or ankle boots with leather gaiters. Officers wore the “Sam Browne”-belt, while other ranks received the Portuguese version of the British 1908-pattern webbing. The standard issue rifle was the Mauser-Virguiero 6.5mm, but the troops in France were issued with the Lee-Enfield for ease of ammunition supply. They also used other British armament, like the Lewis LMG, and the Stokes mortar.

I'd have to disagree with the above post. Portugal entered the war in 1916 and the Portuguese Expeditionary Force was the name of the Portuguese army sent to fight in France. So, basically every Portuguese soldier was part of it. Just like the British Expeditionary Force.

Yes, you are right, but my idea was: having the normal portuguese units, conscripts, rifle battalion, artillery, etc. And then having as late units the ones that formed the corps. For example: expeditionary mortars, expeditionary rifle battalion, etc.

I think these are infantry men of the expeditionary corps training here in Portugal. This picture is from 1914 If I am not wrong.

@EmperorBatman999:They entered in 1916 and fought both on Europe and Mozambique (against the Germans, who had possessions to the North of it)

Some picture's of Japanese troops circa 1918-20, these are propoganda posters from the siberian intervention so these uniforms could be plausibly used for any Japanese faction that may be added to the mod.

I'm currently working on the Austrian army during 1914, and while I am largely aware on the looks of the later Austrian army (which resembled the late Imperial German army in many cases), I am unsure on the uniform colour of the Austro-Hungarian forces at the onset of the war.

As far as I am aware, they were either grey-'sky blue' like here:


Or feldgrau like the German uniform.

Help would be appreciated!

The colour of the early uniforms is a grey-lightblue hue. Check out this page Aanker. It has absolutely all the information you need on the early and the late uniforms of the Austro-Hungarians. Very informative.

yes, it was the gray blue combination, with very distinctive hats. there were variations in the uniform before the uniform change though.

Also, I'm posting this very informative picture (with a small modification to be according to the ToS). Which is an allegory to our Republican Revolution:

In the right part at the middle and in the left part also in the middle, you can see the marines revolting and escorting a group of jesuits (they were sent away when the revolution happened) respectively. I think it would be a correct source of the uniforms (the picture is from 1910, the date of the revolution), Also in the bottom, you can see the revolutionaries (good source for militia or armed citizenry and also in the center there is a man with a cap which I believe is an Admiral. I'm not sure though. I think these are the parts that interest TGW, but if you want more info about the high symbology of the picture, I can give provide it (as I wrote a 1 page answer about it in a school exam ).
Also, if you're interested, I can will try and find a bigger one.

Here's something interesting that i didn't know about until recently, the Siamese Expeditionary Force, the only independent Asian nation with an army on Western European shores. Not sure if it's useful though

if all you have are forage caps, i suggest you stop now cause this won't go anywhere.

btw, general blucher's uniform passes for a more modern one with the correct rexture. otherwise the troops look nothing like these.
