I suggest following the instructions of Hoooooooar. Save the installer files where you want. For where to install see the instructions by Hoooooooar and adapt to your needs where necessary (if you installed steam in a different location than he did). It won't effect your TA mod. Unless you install into the same directory which I highly doubt you will.

Ive been spending 4 and half hours and counting trying to download via torrent and its saying seeding.

here's the file, used 7zip for the compression so you'll have to use that, but downloaded and unzipped fine for me.

files included are: ss6.3.exe, ss6.3-1.bin, ss6.3-2.bin, ss6.3-3.bin, ss6.3-4.bin, ss6.3-5.bin all prefoldered for ss6.3 and ss6.4.exe. So just download the file. Unzip it to your desktop and run the ss6.3.exe file in the ss6.3 folder and then run the ss6.4.exe file. (if you have vista or win7 don't forget to run the .exe files with right click 'run as admin').

Download takes 1/2 hour at 1.1mb/sec and the unzip took my computer 2 1/2 minutes. So not bad at all.

here...use 7zip to extract all the files....shouldn't take too long if torrent isn't working.

Ok I got it working but now i need to choose between Early and Late period. Is there a difference?

Nevermind everything works and I like it.

good glad it works

, and just so you know...early and late have the same thing just different start dates and starting regions for factions, so the practical difference is:

less units right away and more rebels at first in early campaign (tho eventually you'd reach all the same units as the late campaign, just takes the additional turns), and for late more units (less levy/militia types heavy reliance for early campaign) and bigger starting regions/less rebels and more immediately developed cities.

So, if you like a slower campaign or don't like gunpowder units, or like to expand your empire w/o fighting other factions at first, i'd recommended early.

If you like more units faster, and like to fight the ai right away, love gunpowder units, or a quicker jump into faction vs. faction wars choose late.

There's other differences but that covers the basics.

Right I have a problem. I have been trying to follow Hoooooooars instructions and I have downloaded and installed 6.3 and 6.4. The only trouble is when I follow the 3rd instruction and try to run 6.3 as ,RUN as Administrator, it comes up with the error,

Unable to locate kingdoms.exe
Is Kingdoms.exe in your MTW2 folder?

What is this meant to mean and how can I solve this? I think the kingdoms is in the folder. Also it says I dont have enough campains or folders are missing.

Please help guys

Delete everything, check programs in control panel and make sure all total war everything is gone. Reinstall, follow directions, it shall work :0 You are trying to do it over a previous attempt to install......... I KNOW IT.

Hi guys.

Me again look ill explain furthur. Currently i reformated my computer i had updated all drivers and cards. Im running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit i believe on direct X 11 with format 3.01 i believe, yet im still getting this error... I mean i ever reformated just to start on a clean slate this really is getting to me right now i really want to play this mod have now for about a year yet i still cant... Any ideas?... Please help.

did you update microsoft .net framework (its one of the manual ones i believe)?

Thanks for the response bud. Yes i have i got version 4.0 updated and even restarted the computer updated all drivers for sound audio/graphics card which is a redeoan HD 5700 series yet im still getting that error...

Any clues anyone?

Verify the game cache is the best advice right now. Your dxdiag attatched would also be helpful.

by down do you mean installed direct x 9, or deleted direct x 11, just so you know you can install 9 and 11 together w/o any problems....just making sure

1- unstalled ss 6.3 and 6.4
2-go windows fire wall /preperties/turn off *domain profile *private profile *public profile/click aply and ok
3-click start in search box type msconfig then the word sistem configuration should come up/click on it/go tools tab/choose desable UAC,aply ok
4 -reboot PC
5-reinstall ss 6.3 and 6.4 ,(used utorrent in my case)run the game to make its working.
6-turn on domain,private,public profile ,click aply and ok
7-go back to sistem configuration enable UAC,/aply/ok
then the game should still be working ..

now i got to deal with new problem,when i choose campaign /click start it goes back to main menu,same when i choose historical batle
what do i do ?

i think the ss new unit rosters affects the historical battles if i remember correctly.

As for the other thing, rerun ss_setup and make sure you right click the .exe file in the ss folder, and click 'run as admin' that should fix the menu issue.

no....it's a option under the right click drop down menu....it basically tells vista/win7 that this program can write temp files and its ok (another virus protection thing built in) and you should really do it for all .exe files you run on your computer from before vista came out, like ss/mtw2.

hello guys.

i installed SS 6.3 and it works fine, but whenever i install 6.4 it won't install and would corrupt the 6.3 version altogether. any form of help would be most appreciated.
