At least in my campaigns, Gondor dominates quite a bit. Actually, evil loses much more than good. I think it may have something to do with me normally playing an evil faction. Would explain why a lot of people think evil always wins because I'm sure the majority of players are playing good factions.

My impression is that while in early game evil is often strong, in mid-game good factions are usually dominating the map (around turn 50-100) and later on the tide turns again and in the end evil wins. There was a thread about the balance without human interference a while ago and that seemed like the outcome to me...
