An Imperial Diplomat sends a letter asking for a trade agreement with France.
'Listen to Reason, good sir monarch. I bring treaty bearing the text thus: A cease-fire between our fair kingdoms. The King has seen fit to call and end to this war, as he has gained all his claims in France - he no longer pursues war, for he has no claims to pursue.'
'Indeed he does. Burgundy is too..french, if you mind me saying so, for a ally, too weak. The King also promises to remove himself of the affairs of the Continent unless it does truly concern our kingdom.'
'So, you shall sign the Peace, good monarch?'
The Duke presents the treaty to the French King for his signing.
'Thank you, sirs. It shall greatly comfort his Majesty.'
The Duke left.
The Aragonese diplomat requests an audience.
The Aragonese diplomat clears his throat and speaks.
"We wish to affirm friendly relations with your majesty. We would ask for a non-aggression pact, and a promise of assistance if the heathen Moors defeat our armies."
"That is understood. The heathens are unlikely to be a significant threat for several years."
The diplomat thanks him and walks out. Count Hugh hears a cheer of joy can be heard from behind the door.
