Well Gears 3 wasn't really a DEM, I think. The story'd been sort of set up for this. Not gonna elaborate since this isn't a Gears thread, but I will say that despite the fact that the Gears 3 campaign wasn't as awesome as it could've been, accusing it of a DEM ending isn't entirely fair.

Finished ME 2. Bloody good game. Better than the original IMO, except for the annoying probe minigame to get resources, and that´s less to do at the Citadel.

So, considering the large grin on the IM if you preserve the Collector´s base, I bet there´s the possibility of the McGuffin coming from there. I bet there are too endings - one where the salarians or other race develop the countermeasure, and other where Cerberus does and humanity will be dominant.

BTW, since I´m playing ME 2 for the second time I was wondering what are the really important choices you make here that will influence ME 3. I bet saving the Collector´s base is one, aiding the warmongers in the quarians to go to war versus the geth is another - but what else (besides saving as much of the crew as possible)?

Legions Loyalty mission is key as well, gives you the choice to affect the future of the Geth. Erm They're are a couple others, but it's been months since my Ultimate Play through and I can't remember all that well

I read some pretty crappy story about how Omega turns out and if that is actually canon I want to help her really screw up Cerberus.

btw: How come they constantly make annoying story decisions since ME1?
