    Default Power Overwhelming

I am playing H/M, using Tone's higher upkeep +15% lethality submod.

Greece starts with 35k. From the top of my head on turn two i had 80-90k profit.

Right now it is 540 AUC and i earn about 104k per turn. I just took Sparta (and Olympia) so Spartans are dead and i control whole Greece. I haven't built any moneymakers because i struggle to waste what i earn.

On the plus side playing Greece gives you a chance to try out pretty much any unit (including Spartans once you take the city) and you can build whole elite armies.
The bad part is that it feels like i am using money cheats. lol

I suspect money gets more tight as time goes on and "you neighbour, you must die" wars kick in.
I am at war with Pergamon since turn 1. This turn Ptolemy attacked Crete, next turn Romans besiege Massilla (i did a test end turn to check profit. ).

Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone thinks about the Greece campaign.

80-90k profit you say, than try to incerase taxes in all your cities to very high
you get 150-160 k income in the second turn, than it becomes the real easy peasy

I think you can get the greece campaign challange by sitting in your starting territories for lets say 30-40 years? than nations around will develop and will be harder to own...

Why would i make it even easier by raising taxes??

I'm not in a rush to head out and conquer. But as of now i will go beat on the closest Ptolemy cities and prepare to try defend or take Sicily.
Pergamon may just die at the same time. Although our war has been friendly untill now (just evil glares).

Yeah the start of the greek campaign is really easy. But as you said, once every one off your neighbours starts attacking you, it's a lot harder. Because you are so spread out, almost everyone ends up as your enemy. In my campaign, I didn't border the Averni because Rome conquered a lot of land. But they allied with eachother and the Averni sent stacks through Roman lands towards Massilia.
Plus you can only train good units in your starting cities. I for example conquered Italy, and couldn't build anything in my barracks except some local militias. So as soon as you start to expand, you have to keep a long line of supplies to reinforce your armies.
But the sheer diversity of greek units just makes the greek campaign a must to try out. Massilian armies, Syracusan, Athenian, Spartan, Bosphoran, Thracian etc. It's really awesome to play with all those units.

Sounds cool RJA. I switched back to my romans for a while so i can appreciate my greek surplus once i switch back again.

I did a quick, ctrl+f to search for starcraft. There wasn't one at this time. Sad. The Archon was sweet.(thread title, "Power Overwhelming")

Anyway, I always laughed starting a barbarian faction and starting with 5K and getting 30K the next turn... Awkward but I'm not complaining! : )

if that was a reply to me, that's not the point. How could it take only half a year for a nation to increase its entire treasury six times over?

As I've explained before, the initial income for any faction in RS2, except maybe the Seleucids, is going to be quite good. This is intentional to allow the player to build up his\her own starting territories. This contradictory of the way you might start in a lot of other mods.....where you start gaining income the more you conquer. In RS2, you start LOSING income, the more you conquer...which is why it is very important to build up the economy in not only your starting territories, but anywhere else you take over.
The mod is purposely configured to 'punish expansion', so to speak. So yes, to start with, you'll have a lot of money, but as you build armies and start wars with other nations (or they with you), you'll see that treasury begin to shrink a lot.

    So true!
Your capital will always gain many 20000-30000 gold coins per turn. The fact is that nearly all of your other cities lose money (except well developed ones and rare cases like rhodes). The more cities you has, the more you risk to lose.
