    Default Manifest Destiny! A Civ 5 AAR

    "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

    This one is a biggy! I am the American Civilization lead by the famous George Washington, the 1st General and President of the United States of America. I will be facing off against all other civilizations, including the exclusive Babylonians from the deluxe edition. Also along for the ride will be many city-states, all neutral in the beginning, but they are all bound to pick a side, whether it be under my boot or alongside me in arms against our numerous foes.

    Thanks. I'll get the first chapter up soon. I just started a campaign, but some most of the pictures weren't taken, so now I have to restart.

    Chapter I: New Beginnings
    4,000BCE-3,550BCE



    The year was 4,000BCE and I, George Washington, was chosen among my people to lead us. I fear I am somewhat unexperienced with what I am tasked to do. Our village, which was undoubtably named after me, was a new one, with a handful of able warriors and a few villagers. Our warriors are untrained and I fear they won't be too helpful as of right now other than for scouting duties.

    A warrior has reported back to me that they have found some ruins. And it appears that they had some sort of chart displaying the land. I shall call it a "map." This "map" shall prove handy in exploring the unknown.

    Another cluster of ruins have been discovered by our hunters. The few people living there warned us of hostile tribes to the north and east of our homes. They call them "Barbarians" for their inability to speak any distinguishable language.

    The natives also told us of a Queen that live just east of here by the name of "Elizabeth." They showed my hunters a drawing of her, and I must say, they did a good job.

    I sent the hunter to tell the others to come home and told my swiftest runner to gather as many warriors as he could. We shall attack the barbarian tribe to the east as swiftly as possible. After a few days, a scout reports that they found the barbarian camp. I rather rashly tell him to tell them to attack. And so they did.

    My warriors have proven themselves to be capable of a simple task and they have returned with many pieces of gold! This is a wonderful victory! May our luck persist.

    Now that my warriors have shown what they are capable of, I no longer wish to send them on scouting missions. Rather, I send volunteers out into the wilderness in hopes to find more treasures.

    My scouts say that they found a plant that makes intoxicating aromas. I order them to bring me back a sample and oh boy do they smell good! I must get some gatherers out there to pick me some more.

    As it would turn out, another barbarian tribe has set up camp to the north of my beloved flora. I shall send my warriors post-haste to deal with the insolent fools.

    It turns out that there is another tribe nearby, but they don't seem to be like the others. They are lead by a man who calls himself "Darius the Great." Judging by his beard, I would say that his name is justified.

    We our just little explorers aren't we? We just found a small village that calls itself "Monaco." They tell us that if we are to be friends, we must aid them in ridding the land of the Smelly Ones, aka barbarians.

    It would appear we are not the only ones who wish to get a hold of Monaco's resources. A seemingly grumpy, yet wise, man by the name of Bismark also wishes to take Monaco under his wing. Another man, the height of a small boy, rode up to both of us on some sort of deer-like beast called a "horse" boasting that he was the great Napolean of France. We both looked at eachother and laughed. He did not seem to happy. But what can I say? He looks like an Oompa-Loompa. It's hard to take him seriously.

    Our day of exploration ends. We have met many unique characters and made quite some progress. Tomorrow will be a new day, and let's hope it was as good as this one.

    Chapter II: Discovering New Lands

    When I last left off, I told you about the beginning of my wonderous village, Washington. Well now, this story will boldly take a turn for the best as you will witness my glorious expansion!

    It started with another barbarian camp to the north. It was a simple one, one that needed to be destroyed.

    Whilst my warriors deal with my enemies, one of our hunters made a break-through! No longer do we have to go upto our prey (or enemies) and club them to death with our clubs in a gorey manner. No, that is too barbaric. We have a new method, one that is more elegant, capable of taking down our foes with silence and grace. It is what I'd like to call, "Archery." This will surely rock the very fabrics of time and space as we will dominate the world from afar! No longer shall our men need to thoughtlessly blugeon eachother to death, but instead, use skillful aiming and sharp wits to take their foe. This is the dawn of a new era in warfare. This is the Age of Archery!

    My scouts have sent back a report of meeting yet another civilization (how many people are there in this world, geeze!). They call themselves "Belgrade." Lets hope they are friends and not foes.

    My warriors also grow daily. They just recent defeated more Smelly Ones (without the help of my awesome bows) and they seemed to have gotten better! It's like they were promoted or something.

    No sooner after my scouts have found Belgrade, a strange man with a cloth around his head tells one of them that he is Sultan al-Rashid, leader of the Arabs. He seems to be extremely wealthy. Me wants his money!

    It woudl seem that our village has expanded! The neighboring deer and sheep have allied with us and gave their lands to me for my personal use. This will suit nicely to my needs.

    And it would seem that our "wealthy" friend isn't what he makes himself out to be. His village is small in comparison to my glorious city!

    What do you know!? Our hunters and gatherers have returned with much food! We shall feast and our village shall prosper.

    And it would seem that there is yet another civilization! This world is much more crowded than I had hoped. This will lead to complications in the future if I am to rule the world.

    Well, my scouts have traveled far and wide. They have uncovered much land, all of which shall be mine.

    Meanwhile, my warriors find yet another barbaric socitey. And there are more than usual. My warriors are quick to deal with the threat.

    We meet yet another two civilizations, Singapore and the Greeks. The Greeks are ruled by a general by the name of Alexander. He looks no older than 16!

    Finally! Some villagers have taken the intiative of working the lands for very minimal wage (no, they are not slaves)! We celebrate in their honor.

    Alexander seems to dislike al-Rashid. He asks for our help (secretly) and we, reluctantly, accept.

    And with that, I end yet another chapter in my life as a ruler of such a proud people. Our village has grown, our warriors have become mighty, we have found a way to dispatch of our foes silently, and we have met with many new nations. The future of America shines bright.
