If you're using Alexander, you need to add this command to your Rome - Total War/data/descr_formations_ai. The thing is with the lack of the max unit width command, units won't be in a long column, which is kind of annoying but it lets you ambush.

Works just fine for me.

I had the same problems that 98% of all ambushes against me resulted in a CTD at the loading screen of the battle. So everytime I restarted my Rome campaign I had to attack Hannibal which made things even harder.

It seems that ambushes are broken with the Alex.exe

Anyways, could somebody add this fix to the known issues, please. I wonder why it isn´t already up there as there must be others playing with alex having the same problem.

Btw, this should also be fixed in the next patch!
