When ever I play Broken Cersent my money is instantly in the hole, this really bothers me because this mod rocks but the economics stink!
I just have to ask, why do the economics stink and why haven't they fixed it yet?

I think u should ask them in their official forums here.![]()
Besides, if you really like the rest of the mod, you can give yourself money easily enough and play the rest of the mod normally.
Don't blame me, I voted for Pedro!
It stops you from blitzing and you have to carefully build up your economy, in my first Omani campaign I had a healthy income of 3000 florins a turn and I had most of southern Arabia(about turn 30). You just have to find the balance between improving settlements, Conqouring settlements and saving money. A good way of making money is building things like grain exchanges and ports in your settlements, they increase the money the settlements gives and then get trade rights with everyone. Its not a perfect guide or explanation but it is a start.

I like mods that force you to plan. And BC certainly requires that. I usually turtle after picking up an initial 4 or five provinces from the rebels. Dissolve surplus armies and use free upkeep garrisons. Build up the economy nicely and then have a look who might be a worthy opponent.
Simply storming through the regions and conquering will bankrupt you pretty fast. You can never produce free upkeep units fast enough in the initial rounds. Some nasty mod developers give you only non free upkeep units at the beginning just for that purpose. (Try PDeR, we did it there if my mind doesn't fail me).
I have to add that, as a financial analyst, a big part of the fun for me is having to budget and grow my economy. The blitz through everything games get boring quickly. But, like I said earlier, there are tons of money cheats where you can give yourself just the right amount to feel comfortable about that portion of the game.

With the new EDU, every unit's upkeep is doubled, so try to keep less soldiers in settlements and only the ones you really need in the front.![]()
Thank you I understand now, just downloaded the mod so I had no idea what that was about.![]()
